GeoTanaman was developed to store, manage, update, analyze and supply land use information and data in Peninsular Malaysia and the Federal Territory of Labuan. This system was developed to facilitate the management of agricultural land use information through the standardization, updating, sharing and access of land use information and data online. It creates an organized, seamless and constantly updated integrated database to facilitate sharing between agencies through online access. GeoTanaman is developed based on interactive, responsive and user-friendly application development features. GeoTanaman allows users to search interactively and perform simple spatial analysis. In addition, GeoTanaman also provides various other functions such as the display of statistical information, maps, charts or graphics. It also has links to geospatial related applications. GeoTanaman's main focus is to further empower the economy of entrepreneurs in particular and the general public in obtaining a supply of quality food that is safe to eat. Through the GeoPlant System, the Department of Agriculture can stimulate the entrepreneurial economy in increasing the national food crop market to overseas markets through specific production analysis at farm locations, planting and production planning based on national and local demand. Market matching or e-commerce directly between agricultural entrepreneurs and exporters can also be achieved online through this Geoplant System. In addition, the GeoTanaman System is a comprehensive application by integrating open source technology involving geospatial and non-spatial information in an ICT environment that can save costs and development resources, is user-friendly, interactive and easy to understand. Accordingly, the GeoTanaman system facilitates the management of agricultural land use information through the standardization, updating, sharing and access of land use information and data online between agencies. While customers of the Department of Agriculture's spatial data can obtain data online, where this system has received approval from the Chief Security Officer of the Malaysian Government (CGSO) and the National Accountant's Department in involving online payments.
