From the makers of the popular OM Meditation app, this convenience utility features most of the popular Hindu Gods and temple deities of India
Puja, also referred to as pooja, is a prayer ritual performed by Hindus to host, honour and worship one or more deities. Pujas are performed daily at temples and Hindu homes.
This app aims to allow the devotee to perform puja tasks (pooja vidhi) representative of the real one in his/her mobile or tablet. It comes with unlimited puja accessories. You can also attach your own favorite puja mantra or aarti music tracks with each of the Gods to create the right puja/temple ambience. You can also change the image of the deity if you have a favourite picture!
Since it does not involve actual lighting of lamps and incense sticks, even kids can safely learn and perform pujas. It is a great companion for those who travel a lot since you can perform pujas anywhere in the world.
It includes most of the popular Hindu deities:
Ganesha (Ganesh, Vinayaka), Vishnu, Shiva (Siva), Rama, Krishna, Hanuman, Saraswati, Durga, Lakshmi (Laxmi), Muruga (Kartikeya/Subramanian), Surya, Gayatri, Kali, Shani, Dattatreya.
It also covers presiding deities of some of the famous temples in India:
Tirupati Balaji Venkateswara, Puri Jagannath, Sabarimala Ayyappa, Mookambika Devi, Madurai Meenakshi and Guruvayurappan.
An auto/demo puja mode is available if you wish to just pray while the various puja rituals are being performed as if by a virtual temple pujari (priest)!
Information is provided regarding the significance of the Puja tasks if you are not familiar with the same. Some basic info on the God (deity) is also supplied for your easy reference.
The interface is very simple and menu-free. All tasks can be performed with one-touch. It is lightweight (~2MB) and does not require any intrusive device permissions.
Take your puja room or favourite temples and Gods along with you, wherever you go!

Ganesh Chaturthi also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi, is the Hindu festival celebrated on the occasion of birthday of Lord Ganesha, the son of Shiva and Parvati, who is believed to bestow his presence on earth for all his devotees in the duration of this festival. It is the day Shiva declared his son Ganesha as superior to all the gods. Ganesha is widely worshipped as the god of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune and traditionally invoked at the beginning of any new venture or at the start of travel.
The festival, also known as Ganeshotsav ("festival of Ganesha") is observed in the Hindu calendar month of Bhadrapada, starting on the fourth day of the waxing moon period. The festival lasts for 10 days, ending on Anant Chaturdashi (fourteenth day of the waxing moon period).
While celebrated all over India, it is most elaborate in Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Goa. Outside India, it is celebrated widely in Nepal and by Hindus in the United States, Canada, Mauritius,Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia, Burma and Fiji.
The application helps a devotee to perform a complete puja on the first day when the Ganapati idol is brought home. It lists all the ingredients required to perform the puja, the arrangement of the puja, audio to perform the puja and the visarjan ritual
The app requires permission for checking status of voice call to avoid disturbing the puja audio.

A lot of people these days call Pundit’s home to perform the puja. But if you wish to do so on your own, please see below…
What you will need for the puja
* A clay image of Lord Ganesha (hopefully an eco-friendly idol)
* Red Flowers
* Modaks and assorted sweets like Pedhas / Karanjis – These are generally made at home for ‘Prasad’ on an empty stomach or Upwaas
* Chandan or Sandalwood
* Incense Sticks
* Choice of fruits
* A moda / stool or raised platform to place Bappa.
* Sweet made of Pancha Khadya (Ganesha’s favourite) – Dates, Rasins, Powdered Sugar, Poppy seeds (Khus Khus) and Coconut
* Decorations for the platform with cloth, lights etc
The preparation for Ganesh Chaturti starts well in advance with one giving a spic-and-span clean to the whole house before the Lord arrives. This is generally an exercise that goes into several days but it necessarily needs to be done for the Puja room / temple / place where Ganeshji will be housed and the whole home should be free of clutter.
ON THE DAY YOU WELCOME GANESHA
Sweep and wipe clean the rooms and have a bath. Bring home Ganesha with fervor among family and friends.
Once the idol is home, recite Ganesh Shlokas and pray to the Lord to be welcome in your humble abode.
You can chant a series of shloks from the Rig Veda to invoke the Lord into the idol. They are in Sanskrit and are a part of the Ganesh Suktha.

We invoke You, O Ganapati of the ganas (Lord Shiva attendants), Who are Brahmana-spati of the brahmas (prayers), the wisest among the wise, Who abound in treasure beyond all measure, the most brilliant one. Do listen to our prayers, come with Your blessings and assurances of protection into our home, and be seated.
Sit down among the worshippers, O Ganapati, the best sage among the sages. Without You nothing can be done here or far. Accept with honor, O wealthy One, our great and variegated hymns of praise.
After this, you can start making your offerings to Ganesha. Start by lighting the auspicious lamp.
Offer 21 blades of Druva, 21 Modaks, 21 of the sweet you make from Panch Khadya, assorted fruits and flowers.
Apply Tilak and then break the coconut (it should ideally split in the middle) and also make offerings of various grains to Mooshik. You can then recite the 108 names of Lord Ganesha followed by the Ganesh Aarti and distribution of Prasad among devotees.
Detailed rituals are performed by Pundits and please keep in mind that more than performing exact rituals, its true devotion that is favoured by Bappa.

Shivji is one of the trinity of gods in Hinduism, known as the Trimurthi. The three main gods are Vishnu, Brahma and Shivji. These gods represent, respectively, creation, maintenance and destruction. Shivji is also known as Shiva. The "ji" is added to the end of the name to designate respect. There are innumerable manifestations of Shivji. These forms arose at different stages in Indian history, and now form the mythology surrounding Lord Shiva.
Shiva is the god of the yogis, self-controlled and celibate, while at the same time a lover of his spouse (shakti). While of course many hindu deities are associated with different paths of yoga and meditation, in Shiva the art of meditation takes its most absolute form. In meditation, not only mind is stopped, everything is dropped. In deep meditation or samadhi, even the object of the meditation (like a mantra) is transformed into its formless essence, which is the essence of everything and everyone. Thus Shiva stands for letting go of everything in the world of forms. The path of Lord Shiva is the path of the ascetic yogi.

Mantra is a pure sound vibration that delivers the mind from its material inclinations and illusion. Chanting is the process of repeating a mantra. This act of chanting mantras is Mantra Meditation.Mantra energizes prana. Mantras eventually quiet the mind.
Silently repeating a mantra as you meditate is a powerful way to enter the silence of the mind. As you repeat the mantra, it creates a mental vibration that allows the mind to experience deeper levels of awareness. The mantra then becomes increasingly abstract and indistinct, until you're finally led into the field of pure consciousness from which the vibration arose your spirit. Listening to mantras directly lowers blood pressure, normalizes heart beat rate, brain wave pattern, adrenalin level, even cholesterol level. The mantra is also chanted 1008 times for inner peace.
Following are the benefits of listening to Devotional Music and Mantras:
* Unveils joy
* Transforms feelings and energy states
* Decreases feelings of isolation and fear
* Inspires and enhances the creative process
