Pretty smooth Android TV app! Love the auto play and watch live feature on the home screen, simple and to the point
Very good Very easy to use on Samsung except I keep having the same small issue. Sometimes when I play a video in an article it won't load then 5 to 10 minutes later the video will be playing even if I've changed articles and can only be stopped by closing the app. With that said, great app
Would give 5 but... Sometimes the live stream autoplays when you are reading an article or the app is running in the background. So you have to manually close it. It is especially annoying when you are listening to music or the volume is on. It also uses a lot of data. Even after you pause it once, it would begin playing again after 5 to 10 minutes or so. Please fix this flaw. I like AJ's reporting and the app layout. But this flaw is very annoying.
One awfully expensive flaw Great app, or so I thought. However this app spontaneously starts streaming Al Jazeeera, even whilst the app's not open. Happened to me a couple of times - not a problem if you're on WiFi but if the volume's off and you're on data it is a very expensive and battery draining flaw - and you're completely oblivious to it until your data warning pops up. Now I'm out of data and terribly annoyed.
No notification control Don't get me wrong, it's a good source of news, and largely a good app - but it has a few glaring flaws. You can't disable, or even personalize, push notifications. I don't want my phone buzzing and beeping at me everytime a new headline is posted. I don't mind the drawer notification, just the vibration and noise. The in-app back button also kills the app, instead of taking you to a news listing page. I can use the Android home or back buttons if I want to leave. Overall, it needs work.
