App Of Little Use I am new to electric vehicles, the app shows only a few of the charge points shown on the web site, and those it shows in my area (Leeds) are mostly not available to the public (Leeds University). If this is electric motoring it has a long way to go before it is acceptable.
All seamed to be going fine until I received the unable to connect to server message. Tried a couple more times at the same charge point but in the end had to call the helpline to start the charging. Next day different charge point 50 miles away same issue with the app. Unable to connect to server even though the signal strength was good. Just as well it wasn't outside business hours for the helpdesk, else I would of really been screwed.
Search doesn't work, favourites don't work Searching for any postcode or town name never finds any results, even for postcodes where the CYC website indicates there's a charge point. And if I try to mark a charge point as a favourite, it says "Bookmark deleted" every time; I haven't yet managed to even create a bookmark to be deleted.
Login page white on white. Password restrictions are secretly tighter than web site. Logon page is white on white, so can't see to enter login details. Doesn't have the same password restrictions as the web site (length? character set?) - had to alter my password to get the app to accept it.
Rip off I had to buy the £20 card and I have tried to use it on 3 different Newcastle Council owned chargers and none have worked. Pod point at Sainsbury Heaton works fine every time and you just need the free app. I emailed CYC for help and no one replied.
Good idea badly executed. Crashes Thought this would be useful as just got a EV. However the app is woeful and crashes on virtually all functions! Going to retry install but not holding out hope. New version no better. Come on get this sorted out!
