Usefull App Car Dock Home v3 running on my HTC Vivid ICS smartphone doesn't start any of the "Car Mode System Settings". I'd like it to turn on GPS and Bluetooth when it starts up, but if it doesn't, I don't mind. Car Dock Home v3 is a nice improvement on the HTC included Car Panel and the inclusion of widgets (Power Control) means I can start the radios manually.
Rare app that combines a plain launcher screen with car mode settings. But it's a very archaic launcher that I'm surprised hasn't been updated at all. You can't even drag and drop anything much less do any of the other functions modern launchers have built in.
GREAT FULLY CUSTOMISABLE CAR HOME APP, with room for improvement. To get full benefit of this app you must download third party widgets to display on the home screens. *improvements to be made* 1. Grid guidelines in edit mode to make it easier to place widgets 2. Click and drag widgets needs to be added, current add and delete is painful. 3. Save page layout and manage pages needs to be added 4. Basically make editing the same as the latest Android native. 5. Share layouts forum 6. *Built ins to add* battery status, gps satellite status, power status, power buttons.
Just what I was looking for. I've got an Atrix 2 with a navigation car mount, and was looking for something better than the stock car dock UI. This allows me to fully customize what I want to show up on the home screen. Love that I can have it turn on GPS when docked, and turn it off when undocked. Likewise with wifi (turns it off, and then back on). Also maximizes media volume when docked, and then turns it back down when undocked. Love that I can run widgets too. Wish that I could drag and drop icons, and resize widgets, but not a huge gripe.
doesn't auto-launch via bluetooth. my car has a built-in bluetooth hands-free kit; I have a charging cradle. Other "car home" apps can launch automatically when you get within range of a paired bluetooth device, but this one seems to be missing that feature. otherwise, looks useful.
No good on Xperia S Used to be fine on my old HTC Desire, but extremely laggy on my Xperia S, and crashes frequently. No updates for ages, so suspect dev has stopped supporting this. Bit annoying, as I have the paid version. Am now using InDrive instead, which is a very good app.
Last fix for ICS software menu button didn't work. This one seems to for my Xoom on ICS, and a user tested on Honeycomb 3.2. Use the software compatibility menu button to access preferences, for controlling the features like landscape/portrait mode, etc...
Fix for lack of menu button on some Honeycomb or ICS devices. A software menu button should appear in your lower nav bar.
