I travel a lot. I preface my review with this because it makes a difference. When I am moving around, trying to get the weather, the app will often not be able to automatically locate where I am to get weather updates. So it asks me to manually put in my address, and it doesn't even work when I do this. With that said, when it does work, it is a very simple and easy to understand app. It does a great job of letting you understand the weather and humidity. I am not a big fan of the subscription, as I find a flat fee a better fit.
The system has a hard time tracking my location it will lock into my home, I will have to go to setting and reset my location to get the readings for where I'm at. .. It would or should be able to check locations in other areas to know what I'm heading into as well but can't this is not good which is why I did not give a 5 star rating fix that and I will change the rating.
I tend to try out a lot of weather apps because I live in Houston and we get constantly changing weather conditions. I have really enjoyed the layout of this app and the map/radar is outstanding. I just sat here and watched a storm roll in and used the timer that kept telling me I would have heavy rain in 35 minutes and proceeded to count down to 1 minute and it was spot on as to when the rain arrived. The only drawback I have to this app is paying a yearly subscription. I would prefer to pay one time and own it.
It's never 100% right but whenever is weather forecasting but as the methods go this is much much better than most. User Interface could be a little better but other than that it's a bit of a no brainer. Why the loss of a star? Why is the sub $2.99 in the US and £2.99 in the UK, bit of profiteering going on there...
I don't understand the complaints of paying $3 a YEAR for a very well made and extremely useful app. Three dollars a year! That's 25 cents a month. If 25 cents a month is too much for you to pay, then there are plenty of other free weather apps.
I love this app! I would like to see the temperature in the status bar separated from the persistent forecast summary. It would be great to just have the temp in the second screen of my v20, without having the persistent forecast. This app has never let me down, if you ride a motorcycle everywhere it's fantastic and more accurate than anything I have ever used.
