great idea but poor delivery Was really excited to find this app, however I've found it only correctly analysed about 30% of music on my device. As such, the music it selects is more limited than the manual playlists I had created for exercise, defeating the purpose of installing. When it gets it right it is very good, but after 4 hours of use I've found it doesn't get it right often enough.
Terrible support I have love the idea of listening to music when you work out and love the idea that this app can change the music to suit your intensity as you exercise. My issues lies that I have purchased a pro version of the app to get the extra features it is not recognising this, I have contacted the support several times about the issue but never received a response back. My recommendation is download the app but don't pay for the pro version.
Problems It's great, but there is one huge flaw in this app. Every once in a while this app will "lose" all the songs on the SD card and no matter what you do you can't get them back unless you clear the settings and relaunch search. If you catch this before you go to sleep it's no problem because you can search while you sleep, but you can't enjoy this app if you find out right before your workout. This problem is way too big and happens too often for me to give it above three stars.
Bleh The true redeeming feature is "dynamic tempo" which needs to be purchased via the PRO version. The rest of the app isn't really too useful unless you can keep your running pace consistent; otherwise the song will change the instant you stop for a breather. The concept is there for sure, but the delivery is kinda poor.
Takes time love it, but well worth the money. I've started using it along with the C25K program. - Firstly, the free version is good enough to get you hooked. You get your music playing to the cadence of the run. 1st * - Secondly, it coexists easily with other running apps such as Runtastic, RunKeeper or Endomondo. 2nd * - Thirdly, the free version scans your library in the background and picks up the tempo, but you need to have the WiFi enabled as it checks for the songs online. In the paid version you get to Tap the tempo, look it up online, enter manually, or let the app analyze the audio in real-time. 3rd * - Fourthly, you can adjust quite a few settings: Sensitivity of cadence detection, Matching accuracy, Repetition vs. Accuracy ratio, Song tempo difference in %, plus you can run to multiples or fractions of the song's original tempo. In the paid version you can even let the app slow down / speed up the song to match the tempo without distorting the playback too music. 4th * - Finally, in the paid app you get the Training Mode and built-in programs and this is where the DjRun flies. You can even edit and set your cadence and time. 5th * The only thing I miss is a more complete USER MANUAL. Good Job. Thanks.
Great app when it works I have a love hate relationship with this app. The free version is extremely basic so I forked out the $2.49 for the Pro version to get all of the features. A small investment considering all of the other money I spend on running gear. Pros: * Brings in all of your music playlists * Goes through the music on your phone and calculates the bpm of each song relatively accurately * Allows you to speed up and slow down songs on your playlist or set a bpm rate to pick songs Cons: * Support is terrible. They have no web page info. You can get some support from their Google+ and Facebook page but that is usually form other users * Every time I use the app it does not recognize that I have purchased the Pro version. I have to go to the settings page and select Restore the Pro Version. Definitely a pain * Every now and again the app will crash and you will lose all of your bpm settings. Since I have 16GB of music on my phone you can imagine how long that takes to reconfigure.. All things considered this is a very useful app as long as you can live with the idiosyncracies. I just wish that they had some sort of support to help you through the problems.
