The Idea is Interesting, but... It's a brave idea to handle the conflict in Syria in this format. The execution, though, is less impressive. There just needs to be more to the gameplay than this simplistic card game. The outcome also seems to rely on chance as much as on tactics, and there's not much to explore in terms of strategy. Disappointing.
Good idea, limited in scope An admirable attempt to raise awareness of the Syria conflict, but certainly an oversimplification. There seems to be little room for the player to actually impact the outcome of the game, and after a few plays it feels repetitive. Adding more events and factions, and increasing the amount of real-world info given to users would improve the experience.
Good idea, bad implementation I like the Idea of processing the events in form of a game. There is much potential in this. Only, the game lacks depth. And/or information about the game mechanics. Is there a way to increase the chance of getting support by different nations or is the collection of cards you draw just plain chance? Has the loss of civilian lives any influence on the game? There are many things, that happen and it is hard to know, which are the consequences of player decisions and which are just plain luck. If the game is meant to help the player understand these events, it should give more insight into the mechanics behind it.
Support the FSA! Even if it can be based on chance, it feels like a new fight every time. These sort of games ought to be developed for other current and past events.
More of a Wigdet Than a Game There's not much of a game here. Each playthrough is based more on chance than strategy, and the gameplay itself is kind of like a standard head to head card game, with random events popping up each round. NarcoGuera was a better game (at least it had some replayability), with its Risk-style gameplay. EG is basically just a political commentary wrapped in an perfunctory game shell. This is less of a game, but more of a widget. Skip this one, it's not worth the data.
Good but Great game but it doesn't really explain why did you get the outcomes and one card (shipment) doesn't work. I wrote to support almost 3 months ago got a "we will look into it" and still nothing else fix that and its one extra star.
Version 2.0.1 adds support for more Android devices - thanks!
Updated! Version 2.0 adds newer events from the ongoing conflict including Scud Missile strikes and the enhanced fears over WMDs.
If you have version 1.0 or 1.1 of the game, please install this version and delete the older version - thanks!
