VoIP.ms SMS is an Android messaging app for VoIP.ms that seeks to replicate the aesthetic of Google's official SMS app.

RATIONALE

A number of people use VoIP.ms as a cheaper alternative to subscribing to a voice plan for their mobile devices.

Unfortunately, this can make sending text messages rather difficult, as the VoIP.ms SMS Message Center is clearly built as a diagnostic tool for use in desktop browsers, not as an easy way to send and receive messages on a mobile device.

VoIP.ms does provide a mobile version of this interface with an improved UI, but it still lacks important features that are only possible with a dedicated app.

INSTALLATION

The Google Play version of the app uses closed-source Firebase libraries to support push notifications. The F-Droid version of the application is completely open source.

Edit: the issue was resolved, I'm able to login & get sms. Most likely wasn't an issue with the app, but with voip.ms' API. ......Worked well for a while but I'm now getting an error which prevents me from signing in, sending text msgs, or receiving anything. Pop up error states API error 'missing_method". Just spoke to voip.ms support they said the API is working fine on their end & the developer needs to share the API log errors with them.

Have to say that I enjoy the app, but it keeps getting stuck on sending and never notifies me if the message sends or not. I've had a couple of important messages not send when I need them to. I understand this is something being worked on but this is a pretty bad bug imo Edit: Reducing my score because it still gets stuck on sending a year later. I keep getting important messages not sent

I used that app for a long time and loved it, but as for now messeges getting stuck when sending and receiving. it takes few minutes before the messages sent and received. If that bug will be fix then it will be perfect. After last update, the app works great. Thank you.
