Awesome but no backup I have used this app to chronicle key events for at least 2 years, and it has been great. But since I upgraded my device using kit kat, I have not been able to back it up with Google. Which for me is so important to back up off my device should it be lost, damaged or stolen. This app now fails to connect to Google Drive. I saved as a Google Doc and a Spreadsheet. Now I have to save to my SD card only and transfer manually to Google to preserve them. Fix this, you have a 5 star app if backup works again.
Best I've tried so far As far as journaling apps go, this is definitely the best one I've tried so far. I absolutely love the follow-up option! I did have a bit of trouble getting the Google sync to work, turns out you have to go to the import/export section to start the process, not the preferences. Once I found it though, the process was very simple! If love to see a few more themes added to this app!
Best Diary app on Android. Offline too! Great job. Keep it up. Wish there was a Windows client with which I could securely sync my diary. Some minor issues: Changing font/theme does not give immediate feedback, I need to exit Preferences to see the effect of my changes. Another thing is the themes are too similar (except Dark Neon) and I found no way to customize them. But these are very minor, I stick to a 5 star rating.
love it really nicely made app, better than most apps out there right now.. Update on 7 Jan 2016 I saw my old review for this diary that I wrote back in 2012. This app was pretty good with 2012 standards but the last update it got was in 2014, I think it's good time for a bit of redesign according to latest android guidelines. But it's a free app, so can't ask for much. But I hope the app gets updated. After all, it's still the best freaking app for journaling.
Great app but backup/synch needs work I started using it to record activities on vacation. It is really great for that. I would have given 5 stars if the backup worked properly. I was not able to save a backup directly to Dropbox or the SD card. It only seems to save locally to the device. To transfer to another device, I copied the backup file to Google Drive and copied it to the Backup/Memoires folder on my other device and then used Restore in Import/Export
Perfect for me 1. Rich text editor. 2. A calendar: the calendar shows how many diary entries you have for each day. 3. Yes, it lets you write more than one entry for each day. 4. An emoticon for each diary entry. 5. Flow of thoughts feature, where you can follow up an entry and it will be saved in another list. Very useful for me 6. Password protected 7. Nice interface. DOWNSIDE: No smileys when you write an entry (but with all the good features, i don't mind the lack of smileys anymore) THANK YOU!!! I SUPER LOVE IT!
