For calculating Correct Size radiator for Each
room in a Domestic Property.
This App is designed for the DIY enthusiast who
wants to calculate and install the correct size
BTU is the amount of energy required to heat
1 pound of water by 1 degree...
Calculate Correct radiator Size
for each Room in Seconds!!!
Suitable for domestic properties.
Select room Type,
Enter room size ( Metric / Imperial)
Select Correction for :
North Facing etc.
Generates results in BTU and KW
Uses Formula used by majority of Plumbers / Engineers.
Please rate this App if you like it...
• Heatloss calculator - finds the heatloss from a room
• Radiator calculator - estimates a radiator's length/output
This easy to use calculator lets you enter the details for a room, with dimensions in metres or feet, and it will then will calculate the heatloss in Watts and BTUs per hour. The desired room temperatures (12 - 24°C) can be set in the settings page and also the outside temperature (-25 to +5°C) the temperatures are also given in their Fahrenheit equivalents.
The results will show:
• Ventilation heatloss - Losses from air passing through the room.
• Fabric heatloss - Losses through walls, floor and ceiling.
• Total heatloss - Sum of the ventilation and fabric losses.
The required radiator for the room can then be determined from the total room heat loss i.e. select a radiator that's rated higher!
The app can also be used to work out how much could be saved by fitting double glazing, cavity insulation or extra loft insulation to your home. Carry out a survey of each room in your house, with and without the double glazing/cavity insulation/loft insulation, then total the differences for the whole house to find how much heat is being wasted.
The app will even also calculate the time taken to heat the room from the set outside temperature if the right radiator is fitted. You can also enter flow and return rates and the Mean Water Temperature (MWT) and Delta T will be calculated, making it easier for you to select the right radiator using the manufacturers correction factors.
This calculator will estimate the length or power output from an existing compact radiator using a range of calculations from the most popular radiator manufacturers in the UK.
To find the output you simply select the radiator type, select the height, enter the length (in mm or inches) and select the Delta T. The results will then show the lowest and highest power outputs from across the different manufacturers and then the average will be calculated. This is very useful if you want to show a customer that their radiator is too small for a room.
To find the estimated length a radiator would need to be select the radiator type, select the height, enter the desired output and select the Delta T. The results will then show the estimated length the radiator would need to be.
The following radiator types are supported:
• P1 - Single panel
• K1 - Single convector
• P+ - Double panel
• K2 - Double convector
• K3 - Triple convector
Email or Export:
Once you have your results you can email them directly from within the app or export them to another app that supports text files, such as Dropbox, Google Drive or Evernote.
You can also use the saved results to add up all the heatlosses from a house so you can find the total heating load.
To give you some extra help when you need it, we have added a mini-guide to the Radiator Calculator with the following 4 pages:
• Correction factors - Shows you when and how to apply a correction factor to your results
• DeltaT Calculations - How to calculate the MWT and DeltaT
• Common Faults - Lists a number of common heating faults, their symptoms and remedies
• Balancing - Instructions for balancing a system

The tool is based on NIST Refrigerant Properties and is using the Antoine equations for the conversion. You will be able to see both dew and bubble point for refrigerants with glide.
How to use
On the left side of the screen a slider quickly helps you find the pressure or temperature reference. On the right side you can find the precise pressure and temperature. You can type in the precise pressure or temperature reading, and Refrigerant Slider will instantly give you the corresponding figure and move the slider for visual indication.
You can easily change pressure and temperature units within the most used metric (SI) and imperial units and switch between gage and absolute pressures as you please.

Each refrigerant is represented by a “dot” above the pressure wheel. Swipe left or right across the refrigerant bottle to switch to the refrigerant you desire. The color of the refrigerant bottle will match the official code for that refrigerant. The oil type, global warming potential, safety group, and corresponding pressure temperature wheel are also displayed. Swipe the temp –pressure wheel left or right to view the saturated pressure and temperature values.
The units are specified by using the buttons on the sides. If a unit is highlighted green, then the wheel beside it displays values in that unit. Additionally, the font color of the wheel will match the font color of the button selected. Any combination of units can be selected to view, such as Celsius and psig or Fahrenheit and bar at the same time.
Press the arrow on the left or right side to jump to either end of the wheel. The left arrow will move to the lowest temperature available and the right will move to the highest temperature.
Touch the “Refrigerants” menu button to narrow down the list of refrigerants available.
Each refrigerant that has a checkmark will be available to view from the main screen (and represented by a “dot”).
More Information Button:
Additional information can also be found for each refrigerant by touching the "Ref. Info" menu button.
Here information such as molecular mass, critical temperature, critical pressure and other valuable data can be found.

This has been designed and developed for distributors and installers, with the following objectives:
-To provide a useful contribution in the field, when product information is needed during installation or maintenance, such as parameter tables, alarm tables, connection diagrams and instruction sheets, thus helping the installer in their every day work, and making access to this information faster (and therefore less costly).
-To offer a tool for selecting the most suitable solution: starting from the application (e.g. cold room, bottle cooler or refrigerated cabinet), the App suggests the most suitable product, consequently simplifying the selection process for the distributor and installer.
-To offer a CAREL alternative to other products available on the market. Distributors or installers who want to use a CAREL controller for a specific application can now refer to a table with complete comparison of compatible instruments.
The current version included: easy, ir33, ir33+ and MasterCella.
