About this app

Muzei is a live wallpaper that gently refreshes your home screen each day with famous works of art. It also recedes into the background, blurring and dimming artwork to keep your icons and widgets in the spotlight. Simply double touch the wallpaper or open the Muzei app to enjoy and explore the artwork in its full glory.

Alternatively, you can choose your favorite photos from your own gallery or other apps to use on your home screen. To keep your wallpaper fresh, Muzei will rotate through your favorite photos every few hours.

Finally, Muzei is developer-friendly. All the code is available at http://code.muzei.co and Muzei even offers a simple API that allows you to build your own wallpaper source. For API details, visit http://api.muzei.co.

If you use a third party Legacy Source, you must disable Battery Optimizations on that app to allow it to continue to load artwork. See https://medium.com/muzei/muzei-3-0-and-legacy-sources-8261979e2264 for more details.

I love this app, highly recommend it to everyone. I have a launcher that's a single screen, so I don't get to scroll through the paintings and see them in full but I wish I could tell Muzei to center it at a particular place. This might not be for everyone and I think other sources are gone now, but im happy this one still here and working flawlessly

Edit: After reinstalling the app, I was able to get it to only select the home screen. Still frustrating that I had to reinstall the app to get this option only once at the start. I used other wallpaper apps and they all had the option in their settings to select which screen you are setting to.

Muzei is a "live wallpaper" app - it operates on completely different APIs than other apps that allow you to set a static image, so an in app option is not possible. You don't need to reinstall - simply setting another wallpaper would have been enough. For more help, contact us at support@muzei.co

Great app but it lacks some functionality that I would really love to see in it: - Adjust the part of the photo you want to be on your wallpaper. Their support says after you close their app, your wallpaper is controlled by your launcher. Fair, but can't you cut the photo inside your app and apply it to the wallpaper? I don't think it's something extraordinarily difficult. Oh and the wallpaper is changed at some random time of the day - you can't really set at what time.

As explained in our FAQ, once Muzei closes, it is your launcher that controls the positioning, not Muzei: https://github.com/muzei/muzei/discussions/711 The launcher tells Muzei what size to use and Muzei follows that, we cannot cut it any more than what the launcher says it needs. The Auto Advance settings allow you to use Tasker for exact times
