About this app

Muzei is a live wallpaper that gently refreshes your home screen each day with famous works of art. It also recedes into the background, blurring and dimming artwork to keep your icons and widgets in the spotlight. Simply double touch the wallpaper or open the Muzei app to enjoy and explore the artwork in its full glory.

Alternatively, you can choose your favorite photos from your own gallery or other apps to use on your home screen. To keep your wallpaper fresh, Muzei will rotate through your favorite photos every few hours.

Finally, Muzei is developer-friendly. All the code is available at http://code.muzei.co and Muzei even offers a simple API that allows you to build your own wallpaper source. For API details, visit http://api.muzei.co.

If you use a third party Legacy Source, you must disable Battery Optimizations on that app to allow it to continue to load artwork. See https://medium.com/muzei/muzei-3-0-and-legacy-sources-8261979e2264 for more details.

This app is extremely hard to use. Trying to figure out how to select the photos that you want and where to show them whether it be on the background or the lock screen is unclear. Involves a bunch of clicking around and guesswork. And worst of all when I decided to remove a photo from my slideshow folder, this app continued to show it no matter how many times I removed it cleared its data and even deleted it off the phone. It's honestly obnoxious and I'm going to look for something different

Muzei doesn't control where the images are displayed - whether they are only the home screen or lock+home screen is up to the system when you Activate Muzei, not something a live wallpaper controls. We'd love to help debug your issue with removing if you could contact us at support@muzei.co

I've used this app almost two weeks. I have very much enjoyed it although, the first couple of days it did not change out my wallpaper as scheduled. That seems to have resolved now and is changing every 24 hours as set. One major issue remains though. I have the source set to use my photos. The app does not find all of my photos. It seems there is no rhyme or reason as to which photos it sees, as some are older and some are newer. Still, an amazing app, highly recommended!

I'm enjoying the app, and it works for the most part. The only thing that's kind of a downfall is that the scrolling lags/jumps sometimes, particularly when the phone has just turned on from lock screen. (New phone btw, so not CPU issue.) Unless I wait for a couple of seconds, if I scroll from one panel to the next, the background doesn't scroll with the icons, then jumps to the next position. There's also a jump sometimes when I scroll back to the home/main panel, a little glitch as it orients. Other than the scrolling glitches, nice app.
