Been using this for cycle touring for past 12 months. Excellent (free) alternative to a Garmin. Battery use is minimal in offline mode, and turn-by-turn works fine if you set it up properly. Struggling atm with auto switching on and off on Samsung S8, but I'll fix it. Brilliant app 👍
Unbearably sluggish on a brand new flagship phone (Snapdragon 835 CPU). Can't combine bitmap and vector maps like older versions, huge step backwards. Free version getting increasingly unusable. Too bad, as I really liked this app years ago...
This app has a very weak Map Downloading Engine. It feels like a Map App rather than a Navigation one. I have to admit that Open Street Maps has a lot of details which is a big PLUS but the App needs a lot of work to be user friendly and Competing App. Unfortunately, it has difficulties to know the entered address unlike other Apps like Google and Here Maps which can easily recognize the given address.
Thankfully the old search mechanism has been restored. Searching is still a bit clunky (and slow), but works
Wouldn't load a map fast enough. Uninstalled straight away. Complicated looking interface as well. Don't waste your time..
Very useful. Somewhat tricky controls and POI distance and direction marks in search results list. Overall result is pretty good. Allows offline navigation with voice guidance without any fee.
• Completely reworked map markers with guidelines and route planning
• Measure distance tool, offering snap to road feature and saving points as track
• OsmAnd Live: bug fixes, fresh data on the server every 15 minutes, updates implemented into the navigation
