This app has a very weak Map Downloading Engine. It feels like a Map App rather than a Navigation one. I have to admit that Open Street Maps has a lot of details which is a big PLUS but the App needs a lot of work to be user friendly and Competing App. Unfortunately, it has difficulties to know the entered address unlike other Apps like Google and Here Maps which can easily recognize the given address.
I have not been able to get to a simple street address after over an hour of fumbling around. The help facility shows me all these wonderful features, but not a clear instruction on how to successfully do this simple fundamental thing. I have to give up and find another app with a reasonably intuitive interface.
Thankfully the old search mechanism has been restored. Searching is still a bit clunky (and slow), but works
Tons of potential. Love the offline maps, but downloads are sluggish. Love the options for how the map looks, but POIs show even when disabled. Love the vector look, but the map runs at about 5 fps. Hopefully this matures into something amazing.
This app has been a lifesaver twice now when traveling overseas with no mobile service. The interface has a bit of a learning curve but is also very detailed with lots of features. Last time when driving through the countryside of France and Belgium I compared OsmAnd to offline Google maps and I'd say OSM was the clear winner. I think I've purchased maybe 5 apps in my life and this is one of them, if that says anything.
This is a beautiful app with outstanding maps, but it keeps crashing. If I scroll or zoom it crashes within a few seconds every time. I had a S8 and upgraded to a note 8, but same thing. It often says an index of a particular file is incompatible. Am I doing something wrong? I hope there is a simple explanation so I can give this a 5 and a great review soon. I have downloaded quite a lot of the world. Is there a limit on how many map files it can cope with?
