Personally I think this app is fantastic. However (I'm not that sure on the 'techy' side of things) but can I upload a picture of a locomotive for all to see if said engine doesn't already have a presence?
I usually make a spreadsheet with times, TOC, headcode etc, and write down loco / unit details to add later. I tried this little tool on a 'bashing' trip, and found it to be a great tool. Very compact, operates totally offline (so no phone signal required) and simple to use. With the 'free text' nature of the various input fields, I was able to use my own system to keep a 'bashing log' for posterity, and was also instantly made aware if I had 'copped' a particular loco or unit already. I suggested my travelling companion try the app, and the very useful export / backup / import function allowed the transfer of the details I had already logged. This is great for a genuinely free app. Some may find the 'only one photo per class' a little underwhelming, but this was clearly done to keep the app size down, and certainly not worthy of deducting a star. Perhaps the ability to add photos to your spots, to be stored locally, would be a nice addition, but overall, I really can't fault this app.
Great app! Makes trainspotting even more fun. Issue with a few trains though as some trains have incorrect operaters marked down.
Great app but could do with a way to contact app maker for feedback on apo
I've never been a train spotter. But this app makes it fun (while I'm waiting for my train)
Dear trainspotterapp Could you make a BR locomotive app because I live in the UK and I was confused using this app. I think this app has a lot of potential but instead of putting the nummber put the class like, GWR 14xx/auto tank BR Class 55/Deltic Or, LB&SCR A1 and A1x/Terrier And on their profile have a box with their colour that they are in. Also have an option on each loco to take a picture with the downloaders camera. From a young British trainspotter Ryan T Shaw
- Added the ability to add "tags" to a spot (e.g. "Haulage", "Photographed", "Travelled On").
- Data update.
- New photos.
