Only just starting out... On my jotting journey and this looks an excellent tool to help me. Thanks. Any way of adding photos to our spots in the future?
If you like trainspotting get this app. These two class 73s 73969 and 73968 are now diesels working for the Caledonian Sleeper to Fort William.
Great for spotting Is a great app for train spotting in the UK. However it could be better if it included preserved locomotives both on the main line and on heritage lines.
The ECML Trainspotter
We need Class 82's / DVT's
Trainspotting Good programme keep up the good work
Spot on Great spotting app. Thanks
Pete Eastwood August 11, 2016Thanks for the feedback. Adding Steam is a long-term goal - I'd love to do so eventually. As of the latest version, DVTs have been added.
Great app but could to with more updata so engine like 43002 is put in a diffent colour for being special .also a place were if you are on a trip and want to find a engine your want to see (well a favorite group).also a quick pic so you put in a picture then put the number when you have time.also STEAM at least add them slowly
Pete Eastwood August 1, 2016Hi Lucas. Thanks for the feedback and suggestions. Putting Steam in is a long-term goal. I've logged your other ideas and I'll try to find a way of implementing them in a future release.
Great App, very useful. Would be better if once you've completed a class of train that class changes colour.
Pete Eastwood August 1, 2016Thanks for the feedback. I've logged your idea and I'll see if something can be done in a future release.
Missing Data Generally good but when is the next update due please? I have spotted a number of trains not listed
Pete Eastwood August 1, 2016Hi Neil. Thanks for the feedback. An update should be coming in August.
Great Really easy and quick. Any chance of being able to export the spots into a csv or text file?
Pete Eastwood August 1, 2016Hi Simon. Thanks very much for the feedback. At the moment, data can be "backed up" into a JSON file. I will look into exporting to CSV in a future release.
I like the app but classes 700 800 & 801 are in the loco list
Pete Eastwood August 1, 2016Thanks for the feedback. I'll look into correcting that with the next data update.
Pete Eastwood August 1, 2016Hi Pete. Thanks for the feedback. I'd love to be able to provide that functionality, however, it would be dependent on being able to fund the necessary bandwidth to transfer the data to and fro. Therefore it's unlikely in the short-term. I have logged the requirement.
Very quick and easy to use. A couple of observations: 1. Using "Spot", the time is entered when the spot was made, but using "Browse", finding the number, and clicking "Add", only the date is saved, no time. 2. When using "Spot", the "back" button takes you back to browsing the class, and it's several more keystrokes to get back to "Spot" again - which I am using because of the issue above. 3. The phone "back" key takes you right out of the app at all levels, rather than just up a level. It would be nice if it would stay within the app and mimic the app's back button at the top. It's easy to forget and have to restart the app from scratch. 4. Reports would be nice - not sure how easy to implement e.g. sightings within a class, or missing numbers in a class. Maybe this could be done by exporting the database to a PC - is it sqlite? Otherwise, love it. Particularly like the way it retains the current location so you don't have to enter it each time. 5. However I've noticed that the location field is a drop-down, but is never populated - how to populate it so as to be able to select from a list of saved locations? Nick
Review 28/04/16 This is a Hit...!!! Hello team. Sorry for the delay review. Thanks for the update this is now working a treat. Only one thing I've noticed in the update is class 185 is a very short list. Again this is the way forward. At the moment I know this I the only one out there you have a hit on your hands. Just wondering if you have every spoken to either Platform 5 publishing or other authors to see if this could go far. As I've said you have a hit on your hands. Kind Regards...
Pete Eastwood March 6, 2016Hi Stephen. Both of these issues will be addressed with the next release.
Good but still issues When you spot something the default time is 0000 which is annoying also class 42 should be in the class 43 folder as there is no class 42. Other than that it is a good update
Pete Eastwood March 3, 2016Hi Sam. Thanks for the feedback - I'll look into both of those issues in the next update.
All restored, thanks Pete Updated note, thanks for the fix! Update killed my database. Warning guys, back up before you update to latest version!
Pete Eastwood March 2, 2016Hi Richard. Apologies for the issue. If you upgrade again to the latest version, then select "Restore from Previous Version" in the options menu then your sightings should be restored.
Latest update Updated this app and it has wiped my database, not good. After updating again, and restoring, all my data is back. Well done.
Pete Eastwood March 2, 2016Hi Mike. Apologies for the issue. If you upgrade again to the latest version, then select "Restore from Previous Version" in the options menu then your sightings should be restored.
Reply to old comment Thanks so much for the new update, it's restored all of my data and back to normal now.
Pete Eastwood March 2, 2016Hi. Apologies for the issue. If you upgrade again to the latest version, then select "Restore from Previous Version" in the options menu then your sightings should be restored.
Very Good I love it Any chance of being able to edit an entry once saved? And how about a journey log.
Pete Eastwood March 6, 2016Hi Andy. What do you mean exactly by a "Journey Log"?
Still as good as ever. Simple. Does the job. Easier than low tech paper.
Pete Eastwood March 3, 2016Hi Damon. When typing the location, do the first two letters work normally and then it hangs on the third - or do the first two seem particularly slow?
Not quite a hit.. but not a total miss either Good idea, good layout, just a bit too basic. A confirm 'button' for when you accidentally touch the delete option & the ability to edit previous sightings would be a great upgrade. Though some would class a DVT as a carriage, the option to save their sightings wouldn't go amiss.
Great Idea - Rubbish App The idea is great but it doesn't include steam trains. It doesn't accept numbers not in the database. It automatically assumes a new entry was spotted at that very moment and can't be changed. It also doesn't have a way to sort sightings by loco number.
Love it but....... Will you do a update when new train enter service e.g class 700 and the new IEP trains for example....
Pete Eastwood December 4, 2015Hi Dan, I'm sorry I haven't been as aggressive or regular about the data updates recently. More will be forthcoming.
Update Needed Need an update. Just a note, 66778+779 are not listed. Also East Coast 43367 "Deltic 50" isn't listed so every time I see it, it will not accept number
Pete Eastwood March 2, 2016Hi Ian. The recent update includes 66778/9. Unfortunately "Deltic 50" is still missing, I'll look into why for the next update (which shouldn't be quite so long)!
- Data update.
- Added DVTs.
