About this app

Did you download a GIF and would like to use it as your phone's wallpaper?

GIF Live Wallpaper is what you need! Probably the easiest way to use a GIF file as a live wallpaper.

All this is done in a few simple steps:

Step 1 - Open the app
Step 2 - Activate it.
Step 3 - Click "Open GIF".
Step 4 - Select the file you want.

If everything fits, that's it! Enjoy your new wallpaper!

The application stands out:
- No need for root rights, small file size (<3MB)
- Stops automatically when the wallpaper is not visible or the device is locked, thereby not consuming battery power.
- And of course, no ads, and will not share your data or gather informations!

FAQ:
Q: Can I set a different GIF for the home screen and the lock screen?
A: Sorry, it's not possible: this is one of the limitation of Live Wallpapers, you can only apply to both. On some phones, they don't even run on lock screens!

Nifty little app. Simple and to the point. But you can either change the wallpaper or the wallpaper and the lock. You can't have two different images for each. The app has to be constantly running in the background for the image to apply. If you force stop you go back to default / stock wallpaper etc. It would be great if you could change the wallpaper and the lock independently of each other. And I still haven't figured out when I opted to change both, why the fonts are are now black.

Sadly, the font being black is a side effect of the way the phone tries to decide colors based on the wallpaper being set. For exemple, with a really dark gif, it should be white, but that is not always working properly, not sure why šŸ¤”

I used to use this on my old phone. Worked fine there, installed it on my new phone and now it doesn't work. Gifs do not appear in my menu at all when selecting the "open gif" button to search photos. Only regular photos show up Edit: like half an hour later it just suddenly started displaying gifs. Glad it ended up working but it was very annoying when it didn't, and it is unclear what changed to make it work

Pretty straight forward. Animgif2 seems to have died and one of the features i loved was the ability to have the app cycle through multiple gif backgrounds. Maybe that could be a feature in the future? Oh and a custom color background would be cool too but that's just a thought. Otherwise, good app, does what's described.
