About this app

Did you download a GIF and would like to use it as your phone's wallpaper?

GIF Live Wallpaper is what you need! Probably the easiest way to use a GIF file as a live wallpaper.

All this is done in a few simple steps:

Step 1 - Open the app
Step 2 - Activate it.
Step 3 - Click "Open GIF".
Step 4 - Select the file you want.

If everything fits, that's it! Enjoy your new wallpaper!

The application stands out:
- No need for root rights, small file size (<3MB)
- Stops automatically when the wallpaper is not visible or the device is locked, thereby not consuming battery power.
- And of course, no ads, and will not share your data or gather informations!

Q: Can I set a different GIF for the home screen and the lock screen?
A: Sorry, it's not possible: this is one of the limitation of Live Wallpapers, you can only apply to both. On some phones, they don't even run on lock screens!

This is the only gif app that works and it works exactly as it should. Some phones dont support gif wallpaper and lock screens. Mainly lower end phones and tablets so this app isn't compatible with some phones and wont show in google play. Just another reason you know it works because all the other gif apps that do nothing always show regardless.

READ THIS PLEASE! Okay, this is amazing but one problem is having the freedom to zoom in on the image at will, instead there are preset positions that you can only move around maybe that could be added. Also being able to put more than one gif on the screen at a time so say if I want one at the top and one at the bottom it would be a perfect addition. Other than that the app is wonderfully probably the best if not the best one out there! (灬º‿º灬)♡

The zoom stuff, definitely something I'm planning to add! I haven't started on it yet but it seems like a good idea, using a pinch gesture to do so. Multiple gifs, not so much I'm afraid: it's complex, and would double memory and battery usage. It's a good idea but hard to do properly.

Works exactly how it says it let's you set a gif as your wallpaper and if you want your lockscreen as well. However for me at least I'd appreciate being able to set more variety of background colors. I also seem to be having issues all of a sudden where after playing for about 5 seconds the gif will get staticy for a second then stutter and shake rather than a smooth animation. If that could be fixed easy 5 star.

I think you are right, the latests version seem to stutter a bit, I have to check what is wrong. For the colors, I extract them automatically, I on purposed restricted it to the image palette to avoid cluttering the UI. And so I write less code, let's be honest :-P That will probably not change, sorry!
