The Roll20 Companion App is everything a player needs at game time! Keep your characters at your fingertips at home, the game store, or wherever your adventures take you. Access your 5E character sheet from your mobile device and get your character’s info at-a-glance including your armor class, feats, and inventory.

View your character’s stats and skills during your game session, including your spell DC and proficiencies. Track inspiration, spell slots, hit points, ki points, and sorcery points. Ready to roll for initiative or make an ability check? Let us do the math for you. Dice rolls made in the app are also sent to the Roll20 VTT chat, powered by our signature quantum roll server.

Characters must be created and edited on the Roll20 website and be in an active game to appear in the Companion App. You can also leave feedback for bugs and improvements straight from your mobile device.

New app: I just realized they updated / rereleased the app, the former review was in error. This version is a lot less clunky, very pretty UI. I'm excited to see what features they have coming up, especially since they have a system for up and coming stuff Old app: It's a web browser disguised as an app. Somehow worse than just using a regular web browser on mobile for roll20. Clunky, slow, poor scaling, features don't work. Not worth it unless the roll20 devs do literally anything to change it.

Yeah... Other review are probably a little harsh. It's great for a companion app! You use your phone to play your character, and you use a laptop for the map and the chat. My problem with the app is that it doesn't support macros. Most of my characters will use macros for more complex roll dice or for autoscalling the damage according to a character's level, but since thus app doesn't support them, it's nearly useless to me.

I very much enjoy using this app. I use it in tandem with the website for my character sheet and rolls. Took a bit of getting used to when trying to finding everything and you can only use your sheet as is, no editing. But any edits done on the website reflect in app almost instantly. This app is a great little tool, just wish I could edit my current sheet and create new character sheets outside of games.
