Registration for MPLS Parking is free: just create your account via the app. Once you’ve created an account, you can park and pay for parking in any location parking is available in Minneapolis.

I could not be more disappointed in this app. It's extremely buggy and unreliable. The user interface is more confusing than the previous Minneapolis parking app. I've had issues logging in, staying logged in, adding payment, and trying to park in general. The system frequently errs out when you try to start parking. Recently, I had to go over to a kiosk to pay after trying five times in the app. The app wouldn't start the parking session but charged my credit card five times.

Like everything about Minneapolis, its parking app is terrible. This "update," which, more accurately, is a downgrade, is just terrible. It deleted all my account and payment info. This is a classic example of trying to "fix" something that isn't broken. The old version worked very well. The new interface is confusing. The "zone search" doesn't work, the map is clunky and irrelevant, and the function to set the meter time is counterintuitive and not user-friendly. Awful app from an awful city.

They updated this app so you have to log in every time and they gave it a weird circular time adjustment interface that's not as intuiting as an up or down affordance. Adds a learning curve each time you use it if you use it infrequently and makes you late for your kid's piano practice 🙃. Other than that, the system of parking (numbers per spot) and ability to pay on your phone is awesome .
