Two things. I would like the option to have still camera as default upon startup. I've had countless times when I wanted to snap a quick picture and it was still on video from last time. Second, the video camera keeps pulsing the autofocus every 3 seconds so all of my video fades in and out of focus. Either fix or add a manual focus slider. I do love how lite the app feels. Needs a few more things!
An amazing app! It would be great if you improved the focus and exposure lock a little. The focus lock breaks as soon as I touch the screen. It would be great if I could control the exposure while the focus is locked. When exposure is locked, it unlocks after the first image is taken, so I can't make multiple images in a row without locking the exposure for every shot. Also, when I change the ISO while the exposure is locked, it would be nice if the exposure didn't unlock. The same thing happens with locked exposure: when I touch the screen, it unlocks. The best thing would be if everything was locked until the button for unlocking was pressed.
Does just what it says Several camera apps are filled with ads, even add adware to your phone! Open camera doesn't do that, is just a good, simple camera app that works like it should.
Wanted to love this app, ended up hating it. 1 out of 2 times it freezes my Moto X style. Took loads of pictures, 3/4 were lost ... Utterly useless .
Amazing camera but the latest update broke focusing and exposure control when touching different parts of the screen. Now it doesn't change exposure if you click on a brighter or darker part of the image. The focus square stays in the centre of the image as well. Will bump to 5 stars when fixed. Edit: turns out that after the update, "face detection instead of focus areas" option had been activated.
When I try to record a video, it always says "failed to record a video." I changed saving locations, and tried both my SD card and the phone's storage but it didn't work. My devices is Moto G4 Plus (Camera2 isn't supported).
1.38.2 and 1.38.1: Bug fixes and performance improvements.
1.38: HDR and expo bracketing now available for original Camera API (HDR still requires Android 5+) (Camera2 will still be much faster).
Manual white balance temperature (Camera2 only).
On-screen icons now displayed to indicate various options being enabled.
Fixes: photo stamp orientation on devices that use exif orientation tag; crash with video subtitles when GPS lost. Various other fixes.
