Needs more settings to support more devices. This is good it works fine with laptops wher you can change settings but I see no settings to make it work with other devices like Android based tablets the 3ds DS vita or PSP. please add some time of support for that since it seems not work I have configured it in everyway possible it will not connect. the Program its self on the phone needs to be changed since you cant do it on some devices and there is no options to do that.
Awesome! ! Compared to many others, this is the best!!! No confusing configuring to do. Download, after opening app, click start button, it then turns on the wifi, then on desktop/laptop search for wifi, click on barnacle, and your connected. Can't get any easier than that!! All others want IPs, swift numbers, blah blah. This one is really worth it!! Works awesome on my zte warp. Super fast. Can't tell difference in web surfing between home network and phone's hot spot, I know that's hard to believe but I really can't
Wow! Very Awesome. Requires root access, which can be a downer, But once you have that it's incredibly easy to setup and use. Battery drain is minimal, especially with the phone off. You can easily browse for a number of hours without having to worry about your battery. Ping times are very low on the wifi network, and add less then 1ms between desktop and internet. b(^-^)
Computers' wifi work but not mobile wifi devices It works with my desktop and laptops. However, it doesn't work with my Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0, PSP and mintpad. The strange thing is, other Android phone (Motorola) belongs to my buddy able to find the signal and connected to it. Is there anybody can help me out if you experienced this issue before, so that I can shortcut the problem solving? I know it has to do with infastructure mode vs ad-hoc. Thanks in advance.
Brilliant App but... I had to come back to update my review since after about a month of use, this app has kind of gone a bit down hill. When I first installed, I had the luxuries of full 4G speeds, but within a week of use it fell to 2mbps download and 3mbps upload (when I'm lucky). It's painfully slow and with no known fixes. This is useful and saves me the $30/mo from Verizon, but I'm not entirely convinced it's worth it anymore. Also, it kicks you off the internet whenever you actually use the phone in most ways (i.e. sending a picture to someone, using e-mail, or talking on the phone). With all that said, it clearly states you need root access, so bitching about it is asinine.
Does everything I need it to I use it to connect out in the field every day. If you're getting errors, try restarting the wifi on your phone before pressing the start button. Be careful your PC isn't running any auto updates or anything. You can blow through a month's worth of data incredibly quickly if you're not careful.
See the blog for details of each update.
