Desktop version is great and I have used it since inception. The Android app is just a warmed over k9 mail, and still has all of k9's deficiencies. Two glaring ones are no support for filtering messages (for example to automatically sort incoming mail) and the other, related one, is no autoresponder support. The desktop version has excellent filteration and the filters can be used to set up autoresponses based on details of the message. A curious failure.

Unfortunately the Android app doesn't support filters yet. This could be something we add in the future, though we don't know when. For now, please upvote and support requests for filters at connect.mozilla.org

I love Thunderbird on my desktop & laptop, been a loyal user for a very long time. However the Android app is missing a feature that is so vital to my usage pattern I can't use the app. The missing feature is the action performed when a message is deleted, there is no option to move the deleted message to another folder (trash). The only options are to delete the message off the server or not. By moving a message to the trash folder I preserve the ability to retrieve a message that was deleted

Thanks for your feedback and one of our main priorities is to bring more desktop features to the Android app! We're sorry for any frustration, and we hope you follow our updates at roadmaps.thunderbird.net and make suggestions at connect.mozilla.org!

This was so close to being a perfect email client, except it IGNORES BOTH SYSTEM font display AND accessibility settings for font size (I have both set to largest), and has no in-app options to increase the font size for reading email message bodies. The font size is EXTREMELY TINY AND CANNOT BE INCREASED. I cannot read the emails in this app. There used to be an option to increase the font size but it has been removed without any replacement! the developer response below doesn't work.

We're sorry for any frustration with this change to the font size setting. For now, we recommend going to Display > Font sizes in your device settings to adjust your font size as we explore ways to provide font customization while respecting the system fonts.
