NOTE: This widget is a plug-in for the business cards viewer Carda Lite and/or Carda Pro. You must first install at least one of those two apps in order to use this free widget. Please read what Carda Lite and Carda Pro do on their respective Google Play Store pages (or, we summarize a little bit of it, below). If you would like a free solution, simply so you may use this free ICE widget, then choose Carda Lite; and then as long as you have it installed on your phone, play with it a little and see how nice it would be for your other business card uses, including using our regular widget. Please, though, also consider Carda Pro's powerful additional features. Regardless, this free ICE widget works with either the free Carda Lite, or the more feature-rich Carda Pro.
DESCRIPTION: Carda is an electronic business card case and viewer which allows you to store, organize and display any business card right on your smartphone screen; and then -- and this is part of the magic of it -- if there happens to be anything on the back of the card, Carda will graphically flip it over, right on the screen. Seriously: it actually graphically flips, front-to-back, and back-to-front... it's quite visually impressive. There's nothing else like it in the entire Google Play Store!
THERE ARE TWO FREE CARDA WIDGETS...
Our regular widget is for displaying business cards (or, actually, any other kind of card in your wallet, from credit/debit cards, to library cards, to discount cards... you name it). Once a card is assigned to our regular widget, then when said widget is pressed on your HOME screen, the full-sized card -- the front and, then, if flipped, the back, too -- will display on your smartphone's screen. You may have as many widgets, with as many different business cards assigned to each, as you like.
The other widget, though -- this ICE widget -- is really special because it is dedicated to the task of displaying the front and back of a common medical information card -- which tells paramedics all about you and your health situation -- just like what you may already be carrying in your wallet!
There are many ICE smartphone apps out there -- some free and some not -- and many of which are actually quite good. However, emergency first responders (police officers, paramedics, fire fighters, etc.) tell us that sometimes those apps can actually slow down emergency personnel's ability to obtain the needed information. Yes, all the information is there in those apps, but first responders tell us that each ICE app is different, and so they have to slow down and learn how to use each new one that they encounter...
...all while the patient's condition deteriorates during the precious minutes that the first responder is suffering through that learning curve! Those comprehensive ICE apps are great, but if they slow down your care, then they're not worth it!
What first responders are really used to is just looking at a medical information card in the patient's wallet. That's much simpler and faster, they tell us. However, some of them also told us that if they could read the front and back of a patient's medical information card -- the same one in their wallet -- right on the patient's smartphone screen, as easily as our regular Carda widget displays a regular business or credit or library card, then that would be just perfect!
So that's what we've now done! And it's the only ICE app of its type in the entire Google Play Store... and it's free, too!

Its primary method of organization is through the use of hierarchical lists. The elements in those lists can then be linked to more lists or to fuller sets of information such as graphics, audio/video files, spreadsheets and full word-processing documents. Opening these linked files requires that an application that can open them is present on the device.
