About this app

App for MBO / HBO (towards dairy farming) to learn about soil quality and nature-inclusive agriculture, part of "Greener future for young farmers". The app is also intended for farmers who want to broaden their knowledge of the soil.

Students enter a grassland plot with shovel and this app and record in the app how the soil, plants, animals and landscape are doing; where all properties of these four categories can be assessed visually, directly in the field. Based on the observations entered, the app determines a score and indicates where problems are. The student is challenged to look for solutions. The student can enter measures in the app, which are intended to improve problem situations. Ultimately, the student is shown the result of the measures and a personal score (acquired knowledge points) that indicates whether the measures chosen were useful.

In order to further develop nature-inclusive agriculture in the future, young farmers are needed who will actually work with nature on their farms. Opportunity and opportunities for this must then be clear and accessible and that requires an adapted teaching package at MBO and HBO level. On the Groen Kennisnet website we bring together all the knowledge that is available about nature-inclusive agriculture, this app is part of it.
