📱 Key Features
✅ 1. Log in to the Trial Trench Platform
Users securely log in to the existing Trial Trench platform via a secure HTTPS connection. Authentication is done via the existing web portal, which means that the mobile app is only accessible to registered users or organizations.

✅ 2. Register and manage trenches
The core functionality of the app is the registration of trenches: the elongated dug profiles in which research takes place. Users can directly enter trench data such as:

✅ 3. Layer structure and stratigraphy
Users can enter layers, such as the stratigraphy of the terrain, via the app. This carefully builds up the cross-section, which is important for later interpretations.

The app supports direct access to the camera and photo library of the device. This allows users to add field photos to trenches, tracks or finds, with automatic linking and uploading to the server.

✅ 5. GPS location and map link
Thanks to GPS integration, the location of each trench or find is automatically saved. The location data is displayed on a map, which is also available on the desktop version of the platform.

✅ 6. Offline use (optional with caching)
The app is designed with field conditions in mind. In limited internet, input data can be temporarily stored offline and automatically synchronized as soon as a connection is available.

The app is built with attention to data security and privacy. All data is sent encrypted via HTTPS. No sensitive personal data is processed unless strictly necessary (for example login data or audit logs). No data is shared with third parties without the permission of the user or organization.

🧩 Technical Integration
