Free Multimedia Tours: discover more and easily find your way around
Visit the museum your own way: follow a route or search for the numbers accompanying the works of art. Using interactive floor plans and directions, the app will take you to the start of the area or tour of your choice. During your tour, the app will take you from stop to stop. The blue space shows you where you are at all times. Please do keep your location facilities and Bluetooth switched on for this purpose.
The tours: perfect for everyone! The aim is to see more. Each work has more layers: a 3D audio clip, an animation that allows you to discover unique and surprising details about the collection, and for a number of works you can access additional commentary by inspiring experts and passionate enthusiasts.

Create your own route
Who knows best what you want to see in the museum? You of course! That is why we have made it even easier for you to create your own route with the app.
Under the For you button in the app you will now find the Make your own route option. This allows you to easily select which works you want to see in the museum. Do you prefer Vermeer, furniture or do you want to see works with cats? Just scroll through the categories and click on the work that you want to see. The app then gives you an ideal route and guides you from artwork to artwork. It is as simple as that!

Route selection Assistant
Don't feel like choosing all the individual works you want to see? We've got you covered with the new selection aid for routes made by other visitors. With a couple of questions, we find an ideal route that suits your interests. Fancy Love? Then follow the route Valentijn van C van der Harten. Or do you want to get a breath of fresh air? The decision aid will take you to the route Sea made by Harry.

Rijksstudio: enjoy your favourite artwork anytime, anywhere
Enjoying the collection is now even easier and more exciting with Rijksstudio in the new app. You can scroll and swipe through the artworks, zoom in on the smallest details and easily save the images.

Tickets
Easily purchase tickets in the app, save them and scan them at the ticket checkpoint.

Ratings and reviews

When I am in the museum, taking one of the tours, if the phone screen locks, the app loses its place in the tour and I have to start over. Extremely annoying. Also, the quality of the content is a "please all" average - an option to have more depth would be good.

Best museum app I have used anywhere in the world!!! This app sets the standard. It leads you effortlessly from one Masterpiece to the next where it provides interesting, insightful information . There is NO NEED to rent an audio-guide at the Museum since this app mirrors the guide exactly. (NOTE: While it is not required --- for the best experience bring your own headset.)

The app in itself is great - guides, pictures, interactive tours, etc - but it crashes often, so you have to restart it and find your way back to where you were in the app.

What's new

In this update, we have added Portuguese language support to the app.
This update also fixes some issues around the media playback notification.
