Simple, neat, efficient Without too many bells and whistles, does its job clearly and effectively. Being open source is for me a non-secondary added bonus. Only limit I found so far: I was unable to switch to OSM, instead of Google Maps wich, for my area, is less complete.
Not working. It was a very good app. Unfortunately, it has stopped working after I upgraded my phone to android 6. Was expecting an update to fix the problem. Unfortunately, the update has not fixed it and it continues to crash on startup. My device is Mi498, android 6.0.1, exception class is java.lang.NullPointerException. Hoping the crash will be corrected soon.
It seemed to work well for a couple short test trips. Then every time I try to start a trip, get a message that unfortunately Open GPS Tracker has stopped...over and over...no start of a new track. Tried closing and opening the app. Tried rebooting the phone. VERY FRUSTRATING...PLEASE REPLY AND REPAIR.

New version is improved Reduced battery use a little, and the updated interface rescues this app from the past decade. At least for now, no new bugs (but some of the older ones still present)
This update includes some much needed maintenance on a app that was starting to show its years. This update helps you enjoy GPS recording on a modern phone.
* Some rework on the logging service to prepare for future UI updates
* Reduction of memory and running time of the logging service
* By popular demand the widget, with some minor improvements, is back
* Bonus: Choosing a red or green line color will smooth the map rendering a bit
