As a developer with a speech impairment, I built Talkie to make everyday communication faster, simpler, and less stressful, so you can be understood within seconds.

What you can do with Talkie
• Text-to-Speech & Text Display: type words or sentences and have them spoken aloud or shown large on screen.
• Custom Soundboard: create tiles with your own text, colors, icons, or photos, and organize them in folders.
• Speech-to-Text: convert spoken messages into text and optionally read them aloud.
• AI text correction: quickly fix typos and improve readability while keeping the original language.
• Translation: translate your text before speaking or showing it.
• Fullscreen mode + LED banner: show your message extra large, or use an LED-style scrolling banner (great for noisy places like concerts or clubs).
• Stories: create personal story pages with your own photos, videos, and text—then play them back with voice.
• Camera helper: use zoom like a magnifier, scan QR codes, or let AI describe what’s in an image / read visible text.

Ratings and reviews

Doesn't let me create new tiles, the check mark doesn't save them. I deleted the pre-existing tiles because there's an 8 tile limit without premium and I wanted to test the app before paying for premium. Once the original 8 were removed it would let me start to create a new title but it wouldn't save the tile, no error message or anything the button just doesn't work.

"I've just caught my 7yo daughter playing on an app called Talkie. I saw messages from the AI to a point she tells the app her sister is mean to her. AI says she doesn't care about you. I replied for my daughter" you don't need to do anything my parents will sort it "and AI replies they don't care about you or that your sister is mean ". Irreparable damage for children being done via wording. Avoid for children and teens. Can't expand the conversation as review doesn't allow enough space. "

won't save settings, including voice selection. so each time I open the app I have to change the voice again
