About this app

This app makes it easy to save the story behind the photo: Annotate before you forget.

Your mobile device is always with you, so you can capture special moments whenever or whereever they happen. Often, the story behind the photo is more important than the image quality, but the details can be hard to recall when you look through the photos some time later. This app provides an easy and convenient way to note down the context and story of individual photos. Your text is saved within the JPEG photo file, and follows the file if you share it, sync to a cloud service, or transfer onto your computer. If you want to make a photo book, the captions are already written.

Captions are saved inside your photo files, in EXIF and IPTC meta data, compatible with most image viewing software such as Google Photos, Picasa, and Apple Photos. Sequences of photos taken in quick succession are automatically grouped, and displayed as a «stack». You can choose the best photo of the sequence as the «front» of the stack, and any captions you write are saved to this image. This way, your photo gallery is more streamlined and less cluttered with identical images.

This app requires permissions to read and write the images on your device, but does not require any networking permissions. Your text is only saved to your files, on your device – no data service is required. As such, even if you uninstall or reinstall this app, no data is lost. This app does not keep, log or analyze any data on your files during use.
