About this app

Finding things to do in new places can be tough. We got sick of searching for things to do and finding the same results each time. We wanted local travel knowledge, the walks, waterfalls, swimming holes and viewpoints that we didn’t know existed. But finding these, let alone getting any reliable information on them to plan a New Zealand road trip wasn't easy.

So Roady set out with a mission to give travellers easy access to local knowledge, no matter where they are.

After years of travelling around the country capturing content and learning about these places, we’ve built a travel app that includes our favourite spots and key information that we would have wanted in one place.

You can tick off experiences as you travel the country, earning badges and climbing the leaderboard along the way.

By ticking off an experience, you’ll create a record of your travels on your profile map. Upload a photo, leaving a rating and sharing a tip to provide your own local knowledge for others.

This could be an amazing app, if it was up to date and wasn't missing over half the waterfalls/ walks/hot spots/ nature and its activities in New Zealand. Paid a yearly sub just to see half of what's advertised. I've made multiple contributions to try and add known things, ones been accepted others have been there for months ingored. The lists are great, but you can't manually add anything if it's not showing on the app, so there's no point in using it! Great for photos, etc but so much missin

I've been a champion of Roady since some of its earliest releases and have recommended it to many people as a great way to explore our own backyard. However, recently, the experience of the app has diminished somewhat. Notably, many previously free locations have become paid content for new users. I'm not against monetization - however, this feels like a very lackluster way to provide value. Performance and general stability also need some attention, e.g., screen transitions stutter

Absolutely love it! So easy to use! Love that you can see other people's experiences, photos, tips and tricks. Soooo good! Found so many new spots I want to explore?
