About this app

Topo4GPS is an offline topographic mapping app for New Zealand, featuring LINZ-styled vector maps with contour lines, supplemented with Department of Conservation (DOC) data such as tracks and huts, plus OpenStreetMap (OSM) data for streets, points of interest such as fuel, food, toilets and more!

Track your position with GPS, create and manage waypoints, search for places, navigate with bearing and distance, and import/export GPX files. Once the map (~460 MB) is downloaded on first use (Wi-Fi recommended), the app works completely offline — ideal for tramping, hunting, and backcountry adventures.

DOC public hunting block boundaries are included, so you can check whether you're within a permitted hunting block while in the field. These can be toggled on or off for a cleaner map when hiking, as can NZTM 1km grid squares for easy distance estimation.
