Bummer I was really hoping the update would play this time. But still no.. very sad too, as I can't stream it from the web either. Back to the drawing board guys.
Works as advertised No issues on my Samsung Galaxy S3 (stock Verizon) or HP Touchpad (Evervolv release of Android). One thing I wish would be fixed: close the app & it forgets it was streaming. Have to restart just to get back in sync.
App is great! Great, clean app for streaming all MPR has to offer. I'd love a feature where, for The Current, a user could rate/comment on the songs they're listening to, similar to the website. Fantastic app though. Keep up the good work, MPR!
Cuts out Constantly on Wi-Fi or Mobile Data Tried this app about a year ago with three different devices, and audio always seemed to cut in and out after about 10 minutes, regardless of whether I was on Wi-Fi or mobile network. I have no problem with YouTube, Pandora, etc. Hoped the best version would be better, but problems still persist. Going back to the NPR app which works much better.
Sad in comparison to ios I have been a sustainer for awhile and have had the mobile app for a little over a year. My work just gave me an ipad so I downloaded the app and was blown away by it! Super nice and feature loaded! I am not an apple person and don't use my ipad when possible but now I may have too. Why isn't the Android app on par? Super disappointing.
Does MPR care about Android? This app hasn't been updated for over a year (the last update was September 2013). I've contacted MPR many times about an updated app, and they continue to say that a new beta Android app is "coming soon." That was April 2014. Alas, no updates or betas at all. I bet the MPR iOS update is updated constantly. Because hipsters listen to MPR, and hipsters use iDevices. So MPR's theory is to alienate everyone else. It's a bad play...I've pulled my monthly MPR donation until the Android app is updated. The person who cancelled my donation didn't seem to care. So that's about par for the course for MPR. I've used the fantastic NPR One app, but unfortunately, most MPR channels aren't on it. So I guess until MPR decides to embrace the largest smartphone OS in the world with a proper app, I'll have to go back to Pandora...blech.
- Removes the lock screen.
- Fixes a bug with data use when the app is not active in the background.
- Fixes a bug with an improperly formatted character in the app status.
