About this app

This app makes it easy to see current danger levels for every forecast center in North America. It shows the present danger by coloring the forecast regions on a map and allows people to select a future timeframe for the centers that support it (Today/Tomorrow/2 Days Out). Click on any region to view the detailed avalanche forecast from the source forecasting center.

With support for forecasts from over 20 centers, including NWAC (Northwest US), CAIC (Colorado), UAC (Utah), SAC (Central Sierras), ESAC (Eastern Sierras), MSAC (Mount Shasta), BAC (Bridgeport, CA), BTAC (Jackson Hole), GNFAC (Bozeman), WCMAC (Missoula), FAC (Kalispell/Whitefish), SNFAC (Sun Valley), IPAC (Idaho Panhandle), PAC (McCall), MWAC (Mount Washington), KPAC (Flagstaff), TAC (Taos), WAC (NE Oregon), CNFAIC (Chugach), JAC (Juneau), AAC (Anchorage), HAIC (Haines), VAC (Valdez), Cordova, HPAC (Hatcher Pass), Avalanche Canada, Parks Canada, WhistlerBlackcomb, VIAC (Vancouver Island), and Avalanche Quebec (Chic Chocs) forecasting centers, you can stay informed no matter where you are.

Older version was better, in that the written forecast fit to the size of the screen. This is no longer the case, nor can the zoom be controlled.

We have added zoom for the forecast views in the version just released. The forecast fitting to the screen has to do with whether or not the particular avalanche center's website supports mobile browsers. I think it maybe an issue with the avalanche center's website. Let us know which one you're having issues with and we'll take a look.

Updates avalanche reports from all major centers across the U.S. every day. Great tool for the tool belt! Use it from the White Mountains of NH to the ranges in Alaska.

Doesn't work, use to, but now it doesn't load a map at all, just blank screen.

I think we've fixed the map loading issue. Please give it another shot and let us know if you're still having problems. Thanks!
