Doesn't quite work, would be awesome otherwise I need to switch between 2 APs in 2 separate wings of a building, but it successfully switches between them only 50% of the times. It often sticks with the weakest AP leaving me basically offline. If it worked more reliably would be awesome.
Great Idea! This would be perfect if the access points had more configuration details, and the switching rules could be customized. I have two access points, both get roughly the same signal strength, but one is AC866@5.8GHz while the other is N144@2.4GHz. I would prefer it connect to the faster node, even if the signal is very weak, since the speed will be much greater than the other, even if diminished. The slower node is there for greater range when the other drops out completely. I'd pay a couple bucks for that!
No more WiFi switching woes I've got a long home that requires two networks for full coverage. Until now, switching between them has been a pain and mostly manual. Now, though, I don't have to worry about it at all. Well worth whatever background resources it's using.
Just WOW I had practically no WiFi in the building where I live it was like a 56 k modem in the 1980's. A 5 minutes video would stop 3 or 4 times .When I installed this my WiFi was like a rocket. That you very much I was about to throw the towel with that WiFi connection :).
Works if I tap on the icon It's better than nothing. I have 2 routers separated by a long hall. When I go from room to room sometimes it will connect to the router in that room right away but often my phone can be right next to the router for half an hour or more without connecting. I found that by having the Wi-Fly icon on my homepage & tapping on it when I change rooms it will connect right away.
Indecisive No matter what the setting this app cannot make a decision. If you are within range of more than one access point, just breathing seems to cause the app to question which to bind to. You quickly become frustrated to learn you must physically relocate to incentivize the app into making a choice. Otherwise your connection is even worse, as the app repeatedly swaps back and forth between listed access points.
