Bunsen Browser is a P2P web browser for Android that uses the Dat protocol (https://datproject.org/) to download and share websites, online and offline. Bunsen is a mobile browser for the decentralized web, which is identified by links that begin with dat://.
When Bunsen starts, it will display a loading dialog for about ten seconds while the node express server launches and it fetches the Bunsen User Interface. It will display an old-school portal to other dat sites. It will download and launch those sites when you click one of those links, or when you click a dat link in your normal web browser. Check out hashbase.io for a list of sites.
Bunsen will also load and display a single dat when you enter the dat address (with dat://) and press the enter button.
To load another dat, enter a new address or select a dat from the history, which is listed below the input box when you are typing in it.
In the background, Bunsen will share the dat you have loaded.
To get a more in-depth understanding of that Dat can do, check out Beaker Browser (beakerbrowser.com). It's our inspiration. Thank you to all the wonderful people who have worked so hard to make Dat and Beaker Browser!
