SmoothSync for Cloud Contacts syncs your iCloud contacts. Due to its implementation as sync adapter it integrates seamlessly with the native contacts app and operates invisible in the background.
This app is bundled with Contact Editor Pro to allow you to edit synced contacts on pre-Android 4 devices.
This app is bundled with Contact Editor Pro to allow you to edit synced contacts on pre-Android 4 devices.
Also, check out SmoothSync for Cloud Calendar to sync your iCloud calendars!
Samsung S5 users: Please note that some S5 devices come with a broken contacts app that crashes when opening a contact synced by this app. Please report any crashes to Samsung.
Important note for Android 4.1 and Samsung users: To prevent the removal of your accounts on reboot install this app (before you install SmoothSync):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.dmfs.jb.workaround.icloudcontacts
As of Android 4.2 this issue is fixed and the workaround no longer necessary (except for Samsung devices), please uninstall it.
HTC One users please check out this site first: http://dmfs.org/wiki/index.php?title=HTC_Sense_issue

The app is designed to be as user friendly as possible. Just enter your account data and SmoothSync will keep your contacts in sync.
The app will not sync Contacts from other accounts (like Google) to iCloud!
Please, if you find a bug send me an email. Without detailed error description I often can't do anything especially when I can't reproduce it.
Important! If your phone removes the accounts on reboot, move the App back from SD card to the phone. Some phones (if not all) can't handle sync adapters on SD Card properly. Also check if you need the workaround app mentioned above.
Thanks to the guys at http://www.busymac.com/ for their support!!

Easiest contact sync After trying for hours to find a free solution that didn't take an hour to do (or worked for that matter), I downloaded this app, logged into iCloud, and my contacts were instantly synced. I recommend this for anyone that is looking for a simple and easy way to transfer contacts from their iPhone. Thanks dev!
Convenient & exceptionally EASY!! This app was so easy to use that it literally took less than 20 seconds & all of my contacts synced from my icloud account!! It was so easy that I couldn't believe there wasn't anything else I had to do except enter my info. Switching from my IPhone to an Android never has been easier with this app!

IT REALLY WORKS! Pleasantly Surprised! I am blown away! Not only does it work flawlessly, but because of Android 4.2 & below; I had to load an extra "bug fix" app to keep the new (iCloud account) from being deleted after any reboot. It also syncs all my contact categories, too!!! Best $3.99 I've EVER SPENT on an Android app!!!!!!!

Perfect solution for quick reliable syncing A great app, does just what it says, quickly synchronizes your Android apps to the cloud or other sources. The best part is I was able to completely ditch HTC Sync Manager for my HTC One, a slow and balky piece of software that is not predictably reliable and doesn't properly sync calendars or contacts. All problems solved with this and SmoothSync for Calendar. I have not encountered the HTC bug they mention about creating a new contact in a 3rd party editor.

Top notch developer - worth every penny I had some issues with the app that were entirely my own fault. An email to the developer Marten was sent and within 24 hours he had responded with some ideas and solutions. This app is a godsend for those not sure about making the switch from iOS to android. Well worth every penny and I am proud to be a part of the Android community. Thanks so much!!

Good and not so good ... and now getting worse! I bough both Smooth Sync for contacts and calendars. I loaded them to my HTC running android 4.0.3 and to beging with the contacts synced perfectly. After a day or so, however, it stopped working - changes I made on my iCloud to a contact I had originated on the phone were not syncing. Calendars synced when the software was loaded but from that point do not work. Any ideas Marten?

I so love this app! I am running this on a Samsung Note 3, and I have a problem when I want to edit any contacts, it won't allow any editing. I had this app on my S4 and I didn't have this problem. Please tell me how to fix this. But transfering my contacts and also Smooth sync for calendar are just amazing.
THANK YOU SO MUCH Although I had read some the reviews for this app I was a bit sceptical about how eaay it would be. BOY WAS I WRONG! This is so eaay its unbelievable! Just install the app input your icloud details and viola your contacts are there! Amazing just amazing. So glad I didnt listen to the spectic in me!
Works like a charm! I manage my contacts in iCloud and wanted to easily sync them w/my S4 -- this is the best app out there!! Had tried many other apps (syncmate/samsung kies etc) with no luck, this app did the job easily!!
Randomly stops working I've had this app for over a year now. It worked great up until about a month ago. I think Apple is changing icloud and causing this app to stop working from time to time. When it stops working you need to uninstall it and reinstall it meaning I'm then forced to relink my contacts with all my social networks. Every time it goes down it takes a couple hours to get it back to where it was before it went down.
Contacts Disappear on Reboot The app is quite easy-to-use. However the problem is that when I sync my icloud contacts with my Galaxy S4, they appear in my contacts list but when I reboot the device my account logs out and the icloud contacts disappear.

Please install the workaround app mentioned in the app description. That should fix it. The bug is in Samsung's Android version. The Perfect Mac to Android Sync Smooth is right! I love both apps (Calendar and Contacts) and appreciate the support I've gotten (just answers reflecting my own ignorance). The apps are far superior to the Missing Sync that I used with prior versions of OS X (pre Mavericks).
Life saver if you moved to android So so relived to find an app like this and SS for icloud calender, has made my switch to android so much smoother! If the developer or anyone else could tell me if I need to install the work around for the contacts app (as I was promoted for the calender one) as I wasn't prompted to do so after installing?? Thank you
Does not work with Galaxy s5 While I would give this program 5-star rating for how well it worked on my Galaxy S4, I would have to drop the rating for now because it DOES NOT WORK with the new Galaxy S5 -- hopefully will be updated at some point soon.

Sorry, the problem is Samsung's contacts app, not our app. We're currently investigating and we'll release an update once we've found a workaround. Has worked pretty great, but starting to have problems. The contact editor no longer is able to apply photos to a contact from the phone. Would like to see it fixed. -Occasionally has connection issues. Uses more battery than I would like, in all reality, but it's kind of a necessity for me, so I can sacrifice that.
Perfect I've used the iPhone for years and took advantage of iCloud for contacts. When switching to Android I was worried that I'd have to enter hundreds of contacts into the phone by hand. Not so...this app performs flawlessly. Now I have all 400+ contacts back on my phone and have no worries about losing them again. Great job Developers.
the good sync from iCloud, with glitches - I switched from iPhone to Note 2 and wanted contacts to be in sync (both ways) with Android and iCloud (Mac, iPad). It works smoooothly. (Sept. 2013) - Recently changed phone to a Note4. Every time I turn off the phone, or change SIM, SmoothSync account disappears from Settings/Personalization/Accounts. Hence all iCloud contacts vanish, along with phone logs, until I add SmoothSync account once again. (Nov. 2014)
The app was fine until a few days ago after the OS update 11May2016. The app lost all of the contacts, but for a few. Tried synching, but to no avail. Update: I removed, then added the cloud account back, and it started working again.
Spent over 8 hrs tryng to sync contacts variou ways and with other apps. This took less than 5 min. Well worth the money. Wish I had tried it earlier.
Excellent app and dev Once again, smooth sync does what it claims. 2 factor users need to create app specific passwords to get this going but it's worth the minor inconvenience.
Houston We have lift off! We did have a problem. Thanks to this now we don't. Does exactly what it says on the tin.
Does NOT work!!!! Waste of money I installed it on my note 3 and it says it's synced but takes less than a second. I have over 1300 contacts on my ipad. .. I was not savy enough to fix it, sorry I'm not an expert, so they gave up on me. They wouldn't give money back.
Since ATT upgraded my phone i lost all of my contacts and now this app won't sync. The developer emailed me and seemed to blame me for changing the ROM. Not happy. This worked great before.
Smooth as Buick This app does exactly what it's supposed to do which seems to be few and far between now adays. When it comes to contacts each and every one is very important, so the last thing you need to have lackluster accessibility between two platforms especially in the business world.
Error in syncing - "Unfortunately, contacts has stopped" I was using a Sony Xperia Z and the App worked well and synced my iCloud contacts to the android phone without problem. When I change to a Sony Xperia Z1 recently, I installed the App and did the sync process, a message "Unfortunately, contacts has stopped" appears when I click on most of the contact names except a few. The screen goes back to the phone's screen where Contacts icon resides. I tried resetting the phone to Factory Reset and redid the whole process again, but the same result occurred again. Is there a solution to this problem? (PS, Z1 android version is 4.2.2)

Sorry, that's a bug in Sony's contacts app. It crashes when the synced contact you want to open has an email address. We've already reported the issue to Sony and we hope they fix it soon. Meanwhile you can use a 3rd party contacts detail app like "Contact view free" to show the contact details.
regards
Marten Great Solution Having an iphone an ipad and a galaxy note 3 and google apps accounts, I have been trying to figure out the best solution to sync contracts across accounts. sync with google contacts unfortunately do not sync properly the contact pictures, so the best solution for me is to use icloud and this app to keep everything in sync. This is the only practical solution I have found, good job
Update Updated my rating after I finally realized why my contacts weren't syncing. Whenever I would add a new contact it would save it to You Mail contacts instead of the SmoothSync contacts. After changing that setting when editing those contacts it now works perfectly. If you use both Android and Apple products, you NEED this app (and the calendar app), unless you don't care about syncing or would rather manually do it.
Absolutely FLAWLESS! I live in two worlds simultaneously, and your apps keep me synced, effortlessly!!! There is absolutely NONE better for this purpose. Many, many thanks ...
Not Working on Xperia Z1 This app does everything right but its just not working correctly on the Xperia Z1. I can't open the sync'd Contacts in the "Contacts" app. I get the message "Unfortunately, Contacts has stopped". I can still send text messages to those contacts through the messanger app. One of the contacts (without a pic) works, the others don't. Googled the issue and I found one other person has also written a very similar thing, so I'm guessing it may just be a bug with the Z1 :(
Marten Gajda 29 October 2013
Hi Jeramy, unfortunately it's a bug on the Z1 (it's their contact app that crashes). At present the only know workaround is to use a 3rd party contact viewer app like "contact view free" (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.softwyer.contactview).
We've reported the issue to Sony and we hope for a bug fix update.
cheers
Marten Seems to have stopped working App was working great until a week or two ago on Android 4.3 on my Galaxy S4. I do have the workaround installed, it syncs without reporting an error; the contacts, however, do not show up in my address book. The Calendar Sync app seems to still work without any issues. Please help!
Nice Just installed it. Very easy setup. Just like OSX & iOS... hope it will continue to be this good. If it wasn't for this app I would have sold my new Galaxy Note2... Loving it. Have used it for some time now and it's still good. I would have sold my Android phone if I didn't have this app. Really great work. Possibly to get photosync too?
Bad really bad! What's wrong with this app My phone sees as a treat logs me out as soon as I log in even though I paid it worthless! I have to re add it all the time it's really ennoying..

Did you install the workaround app mentioned in the app description? That should fix it. great app, need two way group sync PLEASE This is a great app. All works well with the exception of group sync both ways. Please add and I would be so grateful!
not all the contacts are sync Hi There I have an Iphone 5 and I decided to move to a Samsung G4. I have 3500 contacts all organised in different groups.. The application is able to sync almost all the contacts but I am missing 10% of them and I don't know what to do.. Paolo
Yay!!!! Easiest thing ever. Wish I had tried this app first, would've saved me hours of frustration!!
After much use I have come to the conclusion that your app is terrible. It drains battery life, never syncs properly and at times makes all my contacts disappear. To the point where I'm switching back to an iPhone.
Good app I am facing little problem in samsung s4 4.3ver ... in app I get sign out automatically due to which all contacts disappear then after relogin it again starts downloading contacts from icloud ... please tell any remedy
It's okay The app overrides the permissions of the phone and force stops the app from working. Whenever I have to create a new contact or edit one I have to do it in the phone first.
Very convenient and useful I have been using this from my galaxy s3 to s4 and syncing has been a breeze. Just a question though, how come when I tried updating my contacts with a new number the app doesn't open like it used to before? Is this due to the app or with android? It would be great if you could help me for im a great fan of the app and even asked my friends to use the app. Thanks.
andy dillon works fine except for automatically formatted international number format where the samsung tries to dial the + character and anything in brackets instead of translating them as the iPhone does As I use several Mac devices and all happily with my existing contacts I don't want to alter the format just for one device Is it possible Smooth Sync could incorporate automatic dialling format translation in future? Then I'd give 5 stars
