It's kind of clunky to get to a node or location. The transmit button could be redesigned or even floating. Doing a long press to remove favorites is a pain. I'd much rather have that option PLUS being able to select and batch delete if I wanted.
W3PO I have been using echolink since the early days when it was on pc only but I lost interest to be on the pc when the HF rig was on the same desk. Now since the implementation on android it is great. I travel a lot around the world and I can keep in touch with my friends. As long as I have a connection I can have a QSO even in places where bringing a radio is not possible. As a matter of fact I do not bother carrying ham equipment anymore echolink works for me.
Glad to see a new version finally. However, the "zombie mode" others formerly and recently noted persists, where the app keeps reopening after closing. Consider making a Pro app or Fundraising to get more frequent releases
I finally figured out that Verizon forces you to use WiFi connection for it to work...totally worthless to me...anyways I have all the radio equipment I need IF, 2 meters and 70 centimeters....and good antennas unlike some people I know that are mud ducks! They need this kind of stuff cuz their too cheap to have good antenna's....
Nothing to complain about. But, I have noticed that sometimes the app keeps wanting to run even after you close it. The only way to get it to quit is to do a "Force Stop".
I've used this app to communicate with folks all over. It's a very good alternative when one doesn't have the equipment or the range to reach out to fellow hams.
