About this app

Does hearing certain sounds like chewing cause an intense rage? Misophonia is a real condition that causes an extreme sensitivity to certain sounds.

This app is produced by the Misophonia Podcast — a companion app combining podcast playback with evidence-based therapeutic tools, trigger tracking, cognitive training, and practical support resources for people living with misophonia.

FEATURES

Podcast Player — Listen to all episodes with multi-band EQ, playback speed control, sleep timer, episode transcripts with search, and a persistent mini player.
Thought Training — A research-backed 15-day cognitive training program (~3 min/day) based on published misophonia research. Swipe-based exercises, progress tracking, and daily streak rewards.
Sound Mixer — Layer ambient sounds (rain, ocean, forest), procedural noise (white, pink, brown), and binaural beats with per-channel volume control. Save and load custom sound scenes.
Breathwork & Grounding — Guided breathing exercises (Box, 4-7-8, Calming Breath) with animated visuals and haptic feedback. Includes a 5-4-3-2-1 sensory grounding exercise.
Trigger Journal — Log your experiences with quick or detailed entry modes, multi-criteria filtering, pattern statistics, and export to PDF or email.
Resources & Advocacy — Research library, legal resources, ADA accommodation letter generator, and a misophonia explainer to share with friends and family.
Crisis Support — Direct access to hotlines including 988, Crisis Text Line, SAMHSA, and NAMI.
Free with NO ads
