Would be useful if it worked. Why some reviewers say they are baffled that others cant get it to work is odd. If people cant get it to work then it obviously doesnt work for them. These apps can work for some and not for others! For me it didnt. It did ask for location permission and i checked in app permissions but it still places me off african coast. If the developer allows you to set location manually, that would be good??
Be warned it does not ask you for location permissions on install. What you have to do is grant permissions in app settings manually but you need to be confident and know what you are doing so seek someone can help. That's why it doesn't find your location, default is mid Atlantic! And according to app there are no sites in Cornwall! Instead of calling other reviewers idiotic and spouting off inappropriate comments other users should post how to fix it. So one star because the developers should have designed app to ask for location permissions on install .
Really good app. As EH members this gives us all the info we need and has been very well thought out. Baffled by some of the absolutely idiotic reviews here. Yes of course you need to give your location for it to work properly, and yes you CAN click on the properties to get all the info about them.
Won't ever ask me for my location or allow me to give it my location, so it's utterly useless. The National Trust one is so much better - found properties near me instantly. I've uninstalled the English Heritage app and reinstalled it but still nothing - this is on a brand new Google Pixel XL.
Works Well - Opens no problem, automatically set location(so that may be an upgrade baring in mind other people's comments) Also there is an area for "Find A Place" split into location and/or type of place which helps planning if you are visiting another region. Overall works for me
Rubbish app, which spoils the experience of searching the information. Should get some professionals to write the app ànd stick what your good at.
