Really good app. As EH members this gives us all the info we need and has been very well thought out. Baffled by some of the absolutely idiotic reviews here. Yes of course you need to give your location for it to work properly, and yes you CAN click on the properties to get all the info about them.
You need to grant location permission manually on Android settings for the app to pick the right location (otherwise it places you off the coast of Africa). The search function works fine but then you cannot click on any of the results. All in all, an app with lots of room for improvement
App uses a defsult location in Atlantic Ocean off west coast of Africa and there is no option to change it. Also it is optimised for a small screen and looks daft on my wide-screen tablet. And the home screen won't display in landscape. All in all it is a very poor app. English Heritage, please look at thre National Trust app to see how it should be done. Also it would be a good idea to hsvevan eMembership Card to show at properties
OK but a little prone to crashing. Would be great if had a feature to actually keep track of sites visited & any notes/photos users may fine useful.
For people stuck off the coast of Africa. Go to settings on your phone, then Apps, then scroll down to English Heritage, click on permissions and allow Location. This will works for other permissions and other apps, hope that helps.
Location permissions screwy Something appears inconsistent with way location permissions are asked for and held (needed for near me functionality). Works initially and then permission setting lost which a reinstall does resolve.
