modified gps.conf file prevents OTA update to 5.0 As stated in the description, this app modifies the gps.conf file in the system partition. However, when updating to 5.0 Lollipop the OTA fails because gps.conf has "unexpected contents". The option to revert to previous settings does not resolve the problem. It is very frustrating.
Very useful but seems to require BusyBox. My default time server was in north America! Now it's set to Poole, UK thanks to this app. Much better! Note: Installed Faster GPS and it wouldn't work (S3 with rooted stock JB 4.3). Went to bug report on website and noted a previous "not working" report said installing BusyBox got it working. So, I installed BusyBox and it now works!
Works as advertised. Funny how people blame the dev when they don't know what are they doing.
Perfect! I have been having an awful time trying to get fast locks on my rooted LG G2 with a custom rom. Loaded this up and had a precise fix in just a few seconds. Thank you!!
Excellent Makes my phone use the servers in the UK rather than Asia, which would explain the 10 minute GPS fix previously
"Good" but RISKY While this did improve GPS .. Heed the Warnings: This app claims to backup the gps.conf -- Don't believe it. You have Root access -- do yourself a favor and make your Own backup prior to having this app make it's changes. Nexus 5 -- The 5.0 OTA update fails due to the gps.conf file. My fix - download the 4.4.4 Factory Image -- extract the system.img -- then extract the gps.conf file and put it back on your device before attempting a system update.
