The user can also use the harmonic plot feature in this program to determine the sampling frequency so that the user can observe the desired number of harmonics of the defect frequencies in the FFT plot.
User has the option to save the bearing design parameters and the calculated defect frequencies in the Android device local database according to the bearing manufacturer and model which can then be recalled for future use without having network connection or re-entering the bearing design parameters.
The user can export/import database to/from cloud storage for archiving and/or sharing. The export/import feature has been tested with Dropbox and Google Drive. The user must have an account with the target cloud storage provider and also installed the mobile apps for the cloud storage to use this feature. The name of the exported database file is always BearingDefectExport.xml. To avoid overwriting an existing database file, always rename the existing file first before exporting a new file. There is no restriction on the import database file name. The imported bearing data are alway appended to the bearing data in the local database. The user has the option to either ignore or update in case there are duplicated bearings in the import file.

The multi-platform App can be downloaded onto any tablet. Once downloaded the App allows you to compare industry sectors, applications and conditions to see how a correctly specified bearing made substantial difference to profitability.
AndroBearing is an Augmented reality app which can be used to take two bearings to any object you can find in your vicinity. You point the object or landmark with the cross on your screen and press the respective button. AndroBearing shows you the magnetic bearing, as well as the true bearing to your landmark, along with your position.
Once you have the first bearing, Andro Bearing shows you the vertical and horizontal offset angle between your landmark and the present direction of your aiming cross. So you can measure the angle between 2 points...when you are a sailor, you will know what to do with such an angle. You can use it for navigation. Or you can use simple trigonometry to calculate the size of distant objects. The bearings are saved automatically and will be available in the following session.
By clicking a button you can further switch to Google Map (TM), where the locations of the positions where you have taken the bearings, are marked and a red and a blue line show the directions of your bearings. So you can make a cross bearing and display it on the map.

Please be advised that the quality of the results of this app depends heavily on the quality of the sensors of your phone. Some devices do not even have a magnetic sensor, then the app does not work. There might be a variation on some hardware platforms, we are not aware of.
The app needs several permissions to be granted for installation. It needs permission to use the gps and the camera. It also needs permission for the internet. This is necessary for the Google Maps technology which is implemented in the app. No data of any kind is sent by the app to the outside world.
