This is a fun book to read. It is somewhat frustrating to start over every time you die but you eventually figure out where the pitfalls are and the story gets much more interesting. There are so many different endings in this story. Five good endings that are the best possible scenario and like fifty bad endings that are the worst possible scenario. This story could easily be called fifty ways to die on an abandoned island 🏝️. Having to start over with no save system is the only real flaw.

I have been a fan of interactive fiction since I read 'CYOA' books as a kid and I buy most Hosted Games releases. I was a little apprehensive about this one because it is only 55,000 words, but I bought it anyway. The premise & writing is good. However to really make it work, this story would need a much higher word count. The complexity of the situation and multitude of characters require more depth. Ending(s) feel VERY rushed and are altogether unsatisfying. I'd love to see this expanded.

The premise is interesting, the writing is also not bad but overall can be frustrating since choosing the wrong choice means auto death to the MC. While it may be intended to be like that, the endings don't feel satisfying enough to make up for the frustrations. Still an interesting read though.
