About this app

With the Flora-ST app it is possible to record floristic observations directly in the field and to transfer them to the Flora-ST database. The location data and the corresponding GPS blurring are automatically determined and saved with the observation. This means that there is no need to search for the exact location on the home PC at a later date or to use a GPS device (manual entry of coordinates is still possible, however). Images can also be taken directly in the field to simplify later validation.
For the transfer, the data in the field is saved locally in your device and can then be transferred to the database if you are connected to the internet. As long as the data has not been transferred, later editing on the mobile phone is also possible.
There are two modes available for recording in the field, which are already known from our portals. On the one hand, the input of individual finds, with the help of which we can record observations of individual plants directly at the location. On the other hand, there is also the option of creating mapping lists for an area defined in the app. Here you can quickly enter many species for a specific area.
Another innovation of the app is the display of finds in my area. This function is currently in the beta phase and will be expanded with future versions.

If you already use the Flora-ST online offer, you can register and get started right away.
For all others, a one-time registration in the portal is necessary. This can be done both via the app and on our portal (http://botanischer-verein-sachsen-anhalt.de/flora-st/). A video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72NGd3bvrj0&t=6s) is also available for further help with registration.
