I was dissatisfied with the native email app that came with my phone, so one afternoon I installed three other apps, one after another. When I came to Aqua Mail I knew that I'd found what I was looking for. It is highly configurable, easy to use, and just works well. I sprang for the Pro version so I could use it on more than just two accounts. The Pro version also removes the "Aqua Mail tag" from outgoing emails. I've used it for a few weeks now and am very pleased. Pros: highly configurable, can access many different kinds of accounts including POP, easy to use, stable Cons: cannot be put on the SD card
Excellent Update July 2018: Continue to love this app. Lately I've been struggling with unstable Android apps and Aquamail continues to stand out. In the time I've had it, the app has been rock-steady. It has _never_ crashed. Job well done. (Original comments:) Love the features and reliability of this app. It's a great improvement over Gmail in the raw, as it were.
LG Mach, ICS 4.0.4. Still 5 stars, but "unfortunately Aqua Mail has stopped." Pls help :'( Opens fast, scrolls smoothly, plenty of options for user personalization. Available alternate colors for read messages a plus. Black background option lessens eyestrain. Easy to add senders to Contacts. After many frustrations with "k-@mail Pro," I decided to try this one. One caveat---I wish I could access my own fonts when composing special messages, like formal invites and such.
Good, Not Great I initially loved it, but as I used it more, weaknesses became apparent. It works well with all email servers. It has a lot of options and is somewhat attractive. The main problem was with images. Some images imbeded came through fine, others did not. I emailed the developer and never got a response. I had the pro version.
Simply the BEST Thoroughly and thoughtfully designed, offering tons of useful features otherwise missing in GMail and most other popular email clients. The developer put together an excellent forum page where bugs, questions and suggestions are promptly answered and addressed. Most importantly, subsequent updates always translate into significant improvements, unlike GMail and most other Google products for which updating usually means crippling. I've been using AquaMail Pro for over 3 years and never looked back.
Best Email App! Always works, no issues. Great design, clean look. So many adjustable features! Takes a bit to set up for personal preference but great once set. Con: Difficult to manage folders, can not create a folder in an existing folder.
+ Bug fixes.
+ OAUTH2 authentication for Yandex.
+ Tasker: the plugin now returns data from all matching messages, as arrays (not just one).
+ Undo for message deletions and similar actions. Settings -> Confirmations and undo.
+ "Replace contact names", app settings -> Contacts.
+ Exchange: now possible to "accept" invites without sending a response.
+ Calendar invite previews: show other events from the invite's day.
