Never Updated This is a required app to connect to my school's wifi network, and it is the only one with all the features needed. This app has not been updated in more than year, and the developer does not seem very receptive to writing this app for ICS devices and above, even though their prevalence has skyrocketed.
Big help When I purchased my phone and didn't know much about smartphones yet, I realized with horror that I couldn't automatically connect to the university network. (WPA_EAP, MSCHAPV2) using this tool and some help from a forum I managed to connect. I wish the ICS version will cone out soon.
phone hangs/resets after installing after i installed this software and was in the process of editing one AP, the phone hanged. after which i could not turn off the wifi even in flight mode. also whenever i opened settings, or wifi ace software the phone just hanged, speed of phone reduced to too low and then it started resetting automatically. Resetting the phone does not help, only option i had was to re-install firmware. i did that, and again when i installed this software same happened. Phone hangs in settings, wifi could not be disabled,
Google TV on the Enterprise The app works as advertised for hooking up to an enterprise system. The only problem I have is that trying to edit any networks in the settings results in crashes. If you try to switch networks, it seems to let you do it once, but then the entire settings app crashes and so far the only way that we have found to fix it is to do a complete factory reset. With a couple of tweaks this could be the best app I have ever had on an android device. It would also be awesome if you could add proxy settings in for networks, esp User/Pass@domain:port style.
Genius! Overcomes a shortcoming in Gingerbread (and maybe other versions) in which you can not edit WPA2 Enterprise passwords (that I could find). Workaround was to Forget and re-add the network, which means lots of typing each time a password change is required (by corporate policy). This works perfectly and has a miniscule footprint (<100k). Should be built in. Get it if you need to connect to WPA2 Enterprise networks.
Enterprise Network It works fine with my company Enterprise Network. However, there is a small bug. If password changed it will not connect again with new password unless you manually clear the credentials from settings->security.
- Enabled Google TV support in manifest
- Corrected Description to clarify some options -- thanks Brian Flanagan ;)
