Review from Dhruv Baid
Looks good, but lacks functionality The UI looks great, make no mistake about it. But it didn't feel smooth to me. It also lacks a few features like support for tweets over 140 characters and the speed of loading of tweets, but the blame twitter's dodgy API for that. It definitely has room to improve.
I have tried quite a few twitter apps now, this is the best in my opinion. It has by far the best layout which is easy to see and use. I will raise my rating to 5 stars once the Favorite bug is fixed. It currently only shows a blank screen when I try to view who all liked/favorite a tweet.
Better than the official Twitter app. Twidere makes Twitter look like old Twitter. My biggest complaint with the official app was there was no way to stop seeing a person's "loved" tweets, even if you turn off their re-tweets. I don't see anyone's "loved" tweets with this app. Also, the size of this app is much smaller compared to the official app.
So I use this for mastodon and I have two separate accounts on different instances and it's not separating the timeline or notifications between the accounts if I'm in one account I see timeline from my other account with that one same for notifications. Pls fix this or tell me how I can fix it it makes me sad :(
A few updates ago I began to have issues with items not loading properly in the app, or it wouldn't refresh unless I clear cache. And every day, sometimes even twice a day it was telling me there was a new update (even though the date said no). So, finally, last night I tried to log the app off twitter, and establish a new connection, but it refused to do it (Even tried different settings but even they didn't change). So I uninstalled it, and reinstalled it. That did the trick! Took me a bit to find some of the setting I had, but I got it. This is a great app, if you ever have issues, don't give up, try reinstalling it.
Excellent, simple and easy. 5* overall but sometimes gets "laggy" on refresh, fixed by clearing databases so no problem but would be nice if fixed.
Combined with a custom API key, Twidere is practically a perfect replacement for the official app. I just wish the multiple account support was better. Instead of other apps where you switch between separate timelines for each account, you just add new tabs for that timeline. It's never entirely clear which timeline you're on or which one you're retweeting to either which has lead to me accidentally retweeting some embarrassing things to my main Twitter account. please add a single account mode to switch between them more easily and itll be perfect
