False detection Tried all setting to get this to detect motion but got 34 false results in a 4 hr period. Though this might be caused by changes in lighting. Then tried inside a lamp lit box and still got false positives. Using a Nexus 7 on lollipop. Good set of features but just can't get the motion sensor to work correctly. Needs some sort of test mode like other apps so you can better set the sensitivity.
...had to delete the old review, reached the maximum length... ***UPDATE 29th Sep 2015*** I've been using this app for a month now. I've been playing with the settings daily, even hourly, and simply can not make it to work the way I want. It doesn't really detect motion at all, but it does detect changes in the lightning conditions. I've pointed the camera to the front yard. Either it captures crazy amount of photos (~500 per hour) or with tighter settings misses movements while still doing lots of false detects. I've tried Motion Detector Pro app (different developer despite the name) and it has excellent motion detecting algorithm. Perhaps you should consider rewriting the algorithm. I'm super happy with all the features and stability of the app, it just doesn't do what it is supposed to do - Detect Motion.
Can't get it to work with Tasker Try to send an intent from Tasker to start Motion Detector and it doesn't work! I changed my rating after talking to the developer. The app is great! Now if I can just get the sound alert to silence... :)
Good app, but the photo quality it not good even though i put the quality setting higher still not good enough. If you remotely change setting via other devise eg pc that would be a bonus. Im hoping that will be fixed with next update. Other than that works stable, works in background without tying the devise.
super fast responding dev. i was having an issue with using the email setting and gmails 2 factor authentication he responded in 5 minutes after i sent the email. Generate an app password if you run into the same issue
Worked well for a few minutes, now the front and back cameras don't seem to register events. When I stop event recording there is a message stating "error occurred". There doesn't seem to be an error log with more detail so the program isn't very useful in its current state. Edit: When there are no recorded events for approx. 10 seconds, the detector appears to stop, even though the program thinks it's still running. I can restart it with a Tasker intent. Dev, if you're reading this, any idea what's crashing the detector?
- bug fixes
- added ability to temporary change active profile when enabling detector from another app
- customizable print format
- other minor changes
