About this app

Use Firefox Focus for everything you want to keep separate from your main browser — for all those get in get out and forget about it moments. No tabs, no fuss, no muss. Block online trackers too. One tap, and your browsing history is completely destroyed.

Firefox Focus is the perfect get in/get out, search and destroy, I’m on a mission that’s none-of-your-business — web browser.

NEW DISTRACTION-FREE DESIGN
When you open Focus, you just get the awesome bar and the keyboard for super quick searching. That’s it. No recent history, no past sites, no open tabs, no ads trackers, no distractions. Just a simple, minimal design with menus that make sense.

ONE TAP TO DELETE HISTORY
Erase your history, passwords and cookies with just a tap of the trash button.

CREATE SHORTCUTS
Pin up to four shortcuts on your home screen. Get to your favorite site even quicker without typing anything.

FASTER BROWSING WITH AD BLOCKING & TRACKING PROTECTION
Firefox Focus blocks many ads you’d normally see on web pages due to our enhanced tracking protection so you get much faster page load speeds, which means you get to the stuff you want a lot faster. Focus blocks a wide range of trackers by default, including social trackers and those sticky ones that come from things like Facebook ads.

BACKED BY A NON-PROFIT
Firefox Focus is backed by Mozilla, the non-profit that fights for your rights on the web, so you can trust it not to sell your data.

I love this app and use it a lot when I want to search fast and won't need to bookmark, or I use it to read articles because it gets rid of so many different types of ads in a no fuss, no muss kind of way. All I have to do to read an article in it is share it from whatever browser (or even app) it started out in and magically the site is readable, instead of being like cancer with ads metastasizing all over the place.

Good: auto-dismiss cookie banners, easy to close everything, "Open in" button for when things are messed up. Bad: buggy theme (dark/light showing up wrong), audio/video freezes up and won't play, but I can press "open in" to hand off to another browser and play audio and video. Great concept, dunno why it's so buggy. duck duck go has similar features but seems more polished (less bugs). My default (for now) but might switch to DDG if the UX doesn't improve.

worked amazing for years. latest update in May does not allow url edits. if you want to go to a new web page, url cannot be edited. you must click x first to erase it and then it is editable. if you are on a url for an image and you want to change the 1.jpg to 2.jpg, you cannot edit it. you have to erase the whole url and type the memorized url back. this happens all day, every day. how does this not get addressed by your QA team? also, you can close browser and open and page still there
